Piper Halliwell is the middle child of Victor Bennett and Patty Halliwell, and soon took on the role of peacemaker in
the family, constantly mediating between her two sisters in an attempt to bring them together. Shes dedicated, intelligent,
driven, down to earth, cautious, spontaneous, sweet and romantic. The many talents of Piper include her culinary expertise,
managerial skills and her ability to run and operate her own club called P3.
Piper is also the sister with the most confusing love life; she has dated warlocks, Whitelighters and even ghosts. Her
first boyfriend on the show was Jeremy, but soon she realized he was a warlock who tried to kill her. She and her sisters
finally vanquished Jeremy one night but the memory of him made Piper a lot more cautious.
Few weeks later, she fell in love with a guy named Mark Chao, but the only thing wrong was he was a ghost. The Charmed
Ones helped him bring his murderer to justice so Mark could rest in peace. Piper was forced to say goodbye to the perfect
man--once again, Piper had fallen for the wrong guy.
Meanwhile, she continued her job at the restaurant where she had first interviewed, Quake, but instead of being a chef,
Piper was moved to the manager position. One day she met their new handyman, Leo. Piper and Leo became closer, and it seemed
Piper finally found the man of her dreams. But then Leo left. He came back few weeks later, but only to leave again. In the
meantime, Piper started dating Josh, a grad student, but he got a job in Beverly Hills. Josh offered to turn it down in order
to stay with her, but Piper let him go--she just couldnt get Leo out of her mind.
Piper didn't know about whom Leo really was until he magically appeared in their attic, dying from a poisoned arrow of
a Darklighter. He told Piper he was a
Whitelighter, sent to them for protection, and that he broke the rules by falling in love with her. Finally, they both
admitted their mutual feelings for each other.
Few months later, Piper opened up her own club, P3, which eventually became a successful club in the city, but due to
their responsibilities, Piper and Leo had numerous problems. She was in for quite the surprise when the three sisters were
sent to the future and Piper found herself still living in the Halliwell manor, with a beautiful daughter named Melinda. Melinda's
father, and Pipers ex-husband was Leo. They both, Piper and Leo, hadnt been able to make the marriage work and they were separated.
Piper returned to the present but she never told Leo about what she had seen in the future. The couple split soon after, and
Piper started dating their next-door neighbor, a cute guy named Dan, and who surprisingly enough was not a warlock, a ghost
or a Whitelighter. But Piper realized Dan was not the right man for her.
While she was working in the club, Piper became sick with the Arroyo Fever. She died but was saved by Leo, who lost his
wings because of that, so he became mortal. Piper and Leo's relationship seemed doomed however, after a trip to the Whitelighter
world led to an ultimatum from the Elders: either the two would have to stop dating or Leo would be reassigned. After that,
Leo hastily proposed marriage, and Piper, after discussing the idea with her sisters, accepted his offer. A wedding was planned,
and then destroyed when the Elders found out and stole Leo away mid ceremony. Piper thought she would never see him again.
Neither Piper nor Leo seemed to mind the Elders rules as long as they both could stay together. Not long after, the couples
wedding arrived. She was stunned to discover that the Elders had sent her mother down for the occasion. Unfortunately, Prue
nearly destroyed the ceremony when her astral form ended up in jail. Piper called off the wedding, but changed her mind when
Prue straightened everything out. Then, Piper and Leo were married in late February.
Later that spring, Piper and Leo packed their bags to move out of the manor, but after discovering Grams had been ready
to strip their powers to keep them together, Piper realized that she couldnt leave the manor.
Tragedy struck though when Piper and Prue vanquished a demon on the local news. While Phoebe and Leo were in the Underworld,
a witch shot through the house, hitting Piper. Prue tried desperately to save her, but finally, after telling her older sister
that she loved her, Piper died. Eventually Phoebe was able to make a deal to turn back time and save her older sister, but
the deal seems to have turned sour since the clock restarted at a time when Piper and Prues lives were in jeopardy, but sadly
this time Prue died.
After the loss of her sister Prue, Piper became the older sister and looks after Phoebe and Paige. Now shes the mother
of a baby, Wyatt Matthew Halliwell. Piper named him for his father (Leo Wyatt) and his aunt Paige (Matthews). He is possibly
the center of Pipers attention after he was born, since a lot of demons seemed to be interested in this innocent and lovable
baby. Now Piper has to deal with motherhood, demons, trying to cope with being a witch and the every day stress of life. She
has a second child in 2004 that came back from the future to help her first son not to turn evil.
Powers:
Temporal Stasis: This was Pipers first power, which gave her the ability to stop time from moving forwards with her hands.
This power is affectionately called freezing. The first time Piper used this power was during an interview for a chefs job,
which she ended up getting. At the beginning, she couldnt control when she was going to freeze anyone, and didnt know how
long it would last, and about every time she got a little nervous or stressed she froze time. She cant freeze neither good
witches nor her sister. As her power progressed, Piper was able to get a good handle on this power, such as freezing demons
and unfreezing particular body parts.
Molecular Combustion: Pipers power grew up on Season Three. She got the ability to speed molecules up to such a point
that they explode. At the beginning she was afraid of her new power and could not control it, so she blew everything up instead
of freezing it. This comes in handy for a quick demonic vanquish.
