Alyssa Milano is the daughter of Italian-American parents Lin, a fashion designer, and Tom, a film music editor. Alyssa
was born in a working class neighborhood in Brooklyn and grew up in a modest house on Staten Island. One day, her babysitter,
who was an aspiring dancer, dragged Alyssa along to an open audition for the first national tour of Annie. But it was Alyssa,
not the sitter, who beat out 1,500 other wannabe stage actresses to snag a role. So at the tender age of seven, with her mother
in tow, Alyssa joined the tour as July, one of the orphans.
After 18 months on the road, Alyssa, who had begun to garner a reputation as an energetic and charismatic young actress,
left Annie to be featured in off-Broadway productions and television commercials. Soon after her success in the musical Annie,
Alyssa next won the part of Adele in the musical version of Jayne Eyre and followed that with a role in Tender Offer at the
New York Ensemble Studio Theatre. Alyssa next appeared in John O'Keefe's All Night Long at Manhattan's Second Stage Theatre.
Her feature film debut came in 1983 when she appeared in the movie Old Enough. After that, Alyssa wanted to get in to television
because she hadnt done any before, she started auditioning for some TV pilots. She went in for the role of Samantha Micelli
without even having read any scripts for the show. Who's the Boss?" as Tony Danza's saccharine sweet daughter, Samantha
Micelli, a kid whose native Brooklyn accent rivaled her TV dad's. In order for Alyssa to accept the gig, the Milano family
had to uproot and move 3,000 miles to Hollywood. Her father quit his job and moved to Los Angeles with Alyssa first, to be
followed by her mom and brother after a few months. Lyn Milano has always been dedicated to her daughters career, even closing
down a successful store to move for Alyssa.
Alyssa was in a few movies during her time on Whos The Boss? she was in the Schwarzenegger movie Commando, and in some
teen-tv-movies such as Crash Course and Dance 'Till Dawn.
It was at this time that Alyssa launched her music career, releasing the bubblegum pop album Alyssa in 1989 which enjoyed
limited success, Alyssa was followed by; Look In My Heart 1989, Best In The World 1990, Locked Inside A Dream 1991, Do You

After Whos the boss Alyssa tried desperately to break away from her role as Tony Danzas daughter, weary of being typecast,
she took on edgy Indy roles and revamped her image. In 1992 she posed nude for ''Bikini Magazine'', as well as various other
nude photos mostly from Europe. Alyssa's films featuring nudity. Including, ''Embrace of the Vampire'', ''Deadly Sins'', ''Poison
Ivy-2'' and ''The Outer Limits''. Alyssa broke out of her role as Samantha Micelli with her role on Melrose Place, Alyssa
played a character far removed from Sam. When Aaron Spelling had a place to fill on Charmed at the Eleventh hour, Alyssa accepted
and for the last eight years has played Phoebe Halliwell on the hit TV series. Alyssa has also made several guest appearances
on shows like Family Guy.
In 1993 Alyssa was engaged to Double Dragon's Scott Wolf but their engagement broke off. January 1st 1999 she married
the singer Cinjun August Tate, but they were separated later the same year. Alyssa loves music, DelAmitri, The Dave Matthews
Band, and The Beatles are her favorite bands. Alyssas favorite book Is ''Animal Farm'' by George Orwell. Alyssa enjoys poetry
