Charmed News

Fairies: Miniature, winged beings from the Enchanted Kingdom. These mischievous beings often befriend children, and delight in performing pranks like hiding keys. They are able to fly and perform magickal feats with their Fairy Dust.
For more information see: Enchanted Kingdom.

Fairy Dust: Magickal dust wielded by fairies. This dust is capable of restoring ones sense of innocence, making them child like in mind, once again.
Fairy dust is also capable of restoring a miniaturized human to their proper size again, and may have other magickal uses and properties.

Familiars: Animals that have a close relationship to a Witch. A familiar can be any kind of animal, but it is common for cats to be familiars. The Halliwell familiar is Kit.
Familiars are usually benevolent beings but should one betray his Witch they will become a Warlock, killing their owner and gaining their magickal abilities.
A potion is needed to make a familiar into a Warlock, but what this potion specifically does, and its ingredients, is unknown.
After becoming a Warlock a familiar must shed all of its animal lives before the next full moon. For example a cat Warlock would need to be killed nine times before it would be reborn permanently as an immortal Warlock. If a familiar fails they return to their animal state for eternity.

Famine: See: Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse, The.

Ferrywoman of Hell: A spirit that ferries the souls of the dead to Hell. She is especially fond of the souls of Witches, as they are prized This spirit seemed to possess the ability to kill at will, murdering an Alcatraz tour guide with the flick of her wrist, and the power to teleport and sense the approach of Witches.
The Ferrywoman is not visible to normal people but Witches can sometimes see her. She appears as a human looking woman, dressed in a large robe, and floats above the ground barefoot.

Fighting: See: Adjusting.

Find Your Muse, To: Created by The Charmed Ones to magickally move themselves to the side of their Muse, Melody, teleporting them to her location even though she was trapped within the Ring Of Inspiration.

Being of creativity,
We call ourselves now to thee,
Your light now darkened in a ring,
Shall feel the Power Of Three we bring

Finn: A golem created in the image of the demon Gamill to lure victims to his house. Though Finn looked and acted like a grown man he had the obedience and naiveté of a small child.
After Finn began questioning Gamills actions Paige Matthews was able to convince him to assist The Charmed Ones; an act that resulted in his destruction at Gamills hands via an energy beam from his wand.

Fireball: The ability to cast balls of fire from the hands. Several magical beings have possessed this ability: Eames, demonic Judge Free Willy Hamilton, and Tom Peters.

Fire starters: Rare and coveted magickal beings with the gift of pyrokinesis. If captured by demons a Fire starters magick would be offered to The Source to drain and increase his own pyrokinesis abilities.
A Fire starters ability usually manifests in adolescence and at first can be difficult to control.

Flame Trap: Set by the demon Sykes in a mausoleum, this trap was capable of discharging a blast of deadly flame upon sensing any motion.

Flame balls: Far deadlier than a fireball, these balls of rotating flame and energy are The Sources preferred method of attack. Flame balls can be cast from the hand, similar to an energy ball or fireball, but also obey The Sources mental commands, hovering in the air or changing direction as he chooses.

The Seer is threatened with a flame ball The flame ball power The Source II conjures a flame ball

Flame throwing: Projection of jets of flame from the hands. Flame throwing is a deadly power, capable of completely immolating even high-level demons. Phoebe Halliwell possessed flame throwing both in her past life as the Witch P Russell and while pregnant with demonic child in her present life.

Phoebe throws flame Phoebe's flame vanquishes a demon Flame throwing

Flaming: Bursts of supernatural flame accompany each use of this teleportation ability giving it its name. Flaming can be used to move oneself, as well as other beings and objects, through space as well as across dimensions.
Flaming ability was exclusive to The Source and his demonic offspring, manifest through Phoebe Halliwell.

Flight: The ability to fly. The line of Dragon Warlocks all possessed this ability, with the power possibly passed from generation to generation upon death. Phoebe Halliwell also possessed stolen flight ability for a short time. With this ability individuals could defy gravity and fly at great speeds.

Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse, The: Death, Famine, Strife and War; Demons charged with the destruction of the world. Each Horseman has his own, violent, specialty but all share the abilities to teleport, make their magickal steeds appear at will, and immunity to Witches powers.
In the hierarchy of supernatural evil the Horsemen are a breed above demons; ferocious, and impossible to vanquish. Only The Source is able to destroy them. Each time a group of Horsemen fail to bring about the Apocalypse they are killed, and four more anointed.

Death & War Strife & Famine

Frankie And Lulu: Criminal partners and lovers, they robbed a series of jewelry stores in the 50s, killing three people before being gunned down. As ghosts they were able to escape Clydes watchful eye to temporarily possess Phoebe Halliwell and Cole Turner in an attempt to complete one last job: getting married.
Piper Halliwell and Darryl Morris were able to force them to flee their possessed hosts, allowing Clyde to return them to the ethereal void.

Freezing: The power to stop the movement of particles within molecules and energy, freezing them in place. For more information on this see: Particle Manipulation.

Furies: Ferocious demons who take their name from the Furies of myth. Like their namesakes Furies are only female and their goal is to punish evildoers, but they possess no restraint and less discretion, making them very dangerous. A Fury will attack any who have committed a crime with equal zeal; from petty thieves, to hardened mortal murderers and demons.
Furies possess great strength, deadly clawed talons, and the ability to smoke from place to place, but their most dangerous powers lay in the supernatural smoke they are able to exhale. This smoke can have two very different effects: when blown into the mouth of an evildoer it causes the victim to combust from within, exploding into flames; but when blown into the mouth of virtuous beings it searches for a portal of unexpressed rage, inflaming this rage until it consumes their humanity, transforming them into a Fury.
Transformation takes several hours. During this time anger grows, as does strength, with nails becoming claws. Soon a nascent Fury develops the power to smoke and to teleport, feeling a call to seek out their brethren, yearning for their first kill.
The only way to prevent a transformation is to resolve the unspoken anger that triggered it in the first place. Once done this completely reverses the transformation, but will only be successful before the first kill has taken place. Once the first kill is committed three clawed talons replace hands and the transformation into a Fury becomes complete and permanent.
Furies also possess an unusual psychic ability capable of incapacitating their prey. When they focus their thoughts upon a being they are able force them to hear the cries of all of their former victims.
Energy balls are capable of vanquishing a Fury, but they are immune to the abilities of Witches. Piper Halliwells particle manipulation ability held no sway over them, and there was no magickal way of destroying them in the Book Of Shadows.

Gargoyles: Creatures who pose as lifeless statues of stone, coming alive to cry warning against the presence of evil. Gargoyles were activated when The Source surfaced in the mortal dimension.
Gargoyles are one of the few things The Source fears as they are able to cause him pain and prevent him from entering a place they guard.

A Genie: A supernatural being that inhabits an ancient bottle. When the bottle is rubbed the Genie will appear and offer the granting of three wishes.
Genies are tricksters by nature. Any wish they grant comes wish a catch. For example when Piper Halliwell wished that Dan would move on with his life a Genie granted her wish by rapidly aging him towards death. A Genie will even trick a person into wishing if they will not do so freely.
The only way to rid yourself of a Genie is to make your three wishes, or to get the Genie to return to their bottle voluntarily. If they do return to their bottle then all the wishes are reversed, but not their consequences. Those that died as a consequence of the wishes will remain dead.
A Genie is always working towards their ultimate goal: to gain their freedom. Once free they lose all magickal abilities, and become human.

Ghost Town, The: The residents of this town were cursed into a time loop because they allowed the murder of the innocent Beau Light feather by the tyrant Sutter on April 25th, 1873, causing the events of that day to be repeated for over a hundred years.
Only the intervention of Prue Halliwell and Cole Turner, and the courage of Beau, was enough to break the curse, allowing the townspeople to resume living out their lives in a parallel plane.

Cole poses as a Sheriff The inhabitants of the Ghost Town Prue and Cole in the time loop A gun slinging Prue Halliwell

The ghosts of Grams and Patty: The manifestation of a dead persons spirit, Ghosts are invisible and intangible, but resemble the mortal bodies they inhabited while alive. Witches are sometimes, whether by design or coincidence, able to see and communicate with them.
There are three distinct types of ghosts: those whose spirits are unable to move on from the mortal realm because they died suddenly or violently, those that have been summoned from the afterlife by Witches in a séance and ghosts which have escaped the ethereal void to possess the living.
If a ghost was trapped on the mortal plane after death it can learn to channel its anger and break the physical plane by moving objects, float, or make itself heard by mortals. Other ghosts, such as Elias Lundy, have been known to master an ability to move objects from afar similar to the power of psychokinesis.
Ghosts can be disruptive entities but there are ways to deal with them. In the case of a benign spirit resolving the issues holding them on the mortal plane will allow them to move onto the afterlife. Malevolent ghosts can be more difficult to deal with, but there are ways to forcibly eradicate them, such as a Witchs spell said on the astral plane.
At times a ghost will be confined to a particular building or location that held significance while they lived, unable to leave. Other times a ghost will be trapped because their spirit needs a dead body to ride across water in.
Ghosts, or bodies possessed by them, are immune to the freezing ability.

Glamour: The ability to cast an illusion, changing your appearance. Both Warlocks and Demons have been known to possess this ability.

Golem: A being resembling a human but created from clay and given life by magickal means. The demon Gamill fashioned a golem, Finn, in his own image.
Golems do not eat, but drink a lot of water to keep their clay-based cells from drying out. Because they are made and not born, Golems have no belly buttons.
A golem may be crafted with whatever knowledge and characteristics its creator desires, but after their creation they may grow and change. Though created in the image of evil the golem Finn developed a conscience and began acting against his master.

Gordon, Dan: A mortal and former next-door neighbor of The Halliwells. Dan was unaware of the sisters identities as Witches, but this didnt stop him from falling for Piper. After a run in with a Genie Dan was able to move on with his life, without painful knowledge of the world of magick.
Dan was formerly a baseball player for the Mariners, playing second base, but was forced to retire when he blew out his knee. He now works in construction. In a past life Dan was a musician and was married to a past incarnation of Piper Halliwell.

Gordon, Jenny: The niece of Dan Gordon. For a time she lived next door to the Halliwells with her Uncle, before she left to live with her parents.
While friends with the Halliwells Jenny was consumed by Masselin and had to be rescued. Leo ensured that she would have no memory of this.

Grams Cursed Ring: Disillusioned with marriage after the failure of her sixth attempt, Penny Halliwell cursed her wedding ring to remind her of everything she hated about marriage should she ever be foolish enough to become engaged again, inscribing it with the words:

To gain another is to lose oneself

A glow emanated from the ring once placed on a finger, with the curse taking effect immediately, the wearer gradually becoming everything they subconsciously feared marriage would make them.
For Phoebe Halliwells this meant becoming like the character Samantha from the television show Bewitched, eventually turning to black and white. Luckily for Phoebe the curse is easily reversed, with the wearer rapidly returning to normal once the ring is removed.
Freed from its influence Phoebe flushed the ring down the drain rather than risk anyone falling victim to it again.

Cole proposes with the ring Phoebe begins to transform The curse takes hold Phoebe's curse results in black and white

Greg: A Warlock with the power to alter his shape into a demonic form, who possessed great strength. Greg was one of the three Warlocks destined to be an evil counterpart to the Charmed Ones. He was killed by his brother while attempting to corrupt their half-human sibling, Brendon, into becoming part of their unholy coven.

Grimlocks: A breed of demon that steals the sight of children in order to see auras. This power lasts for twenty-four hours on the condition that the children are still alive. Grimlocks resemble humans but have black eyes, white skin, and sharpened teeth. They are quite strong and able to kill people by strangling them with their own aura. They only attack the good, as their auras are stronger. To destroy a Grimlock you must blind it using a potion made of shisandra root.
A Grimlock demonstrated the ability to open portals through earth, but it is unknown if this power is common to all Grimlocks, or what its limits are.

Guardians, The: Demonic wraiths that functioned to help mortal killers foment evil. They were always housed in a host body; firstly that of the demonic Judge and then that of their criminal host. In exchange for protection the Guardians took the souls of their hosts victims.
While host to a Guardian the killers possessed and Atheme. This weapon was their link to their Guardians, and also a feature in the ritual that allowed the Guardians to take souls. The killer would carve a demonic rune onto their victims foreheads through which the Guardians were able to steal a soul, sucking it into the rune on their own forehead.
A victims soul is stolen through a Rune Guardians revealed themselves only to steal a soul or when confronted, appearing as astral, or ghostly, forms of bald, human, males in black robes.
The only way to kill a Guardian is by plunging a wooden stake into the Rune on its forehead.
Guardians seemed to be commanded by an upper level demon. The Guardians The Charmed Ones encountered were commanded by a demon posing as a Judge, Judge Hamilton. Whether Guardians and a master demon always work together, or whether Guardians may act independently, is not known.

Guardian of the Vase: The Guardian of a cursed vase. She appeared whenever someone stole the vase to punish the offenders for their greed. She appeared as an ideogram, engraved in gold, on the vase until she was called. When called she assumed the form of a regally clothed Egyptian woman.
The Guardian had the ability to change herself into an ideogram and imprint herself on any surface, teleport, and to manifest animals from the charms she wore. She was able to create a scorpion, a spider, and snake. Once those that stole the vase were punished the Guardian, and the vase, returned to the place they were stolen from.
The only way to escape the curse, and the Guardian, was to commit a selfless act.

Guardians Of The Hollow: Keepers of the crypt of The Hollow, one a representative of good, the other of evil. They had been charged with keeping The Hollow safely secured since its imprisonment three thousand and five hundred years ago.
The haloed Guardian of good possessed levitation and remote orbing abilities, possibly holding roots as a Whitelighter. The Guardian from the side of evil was a demon loyal to The Source with lightning casting and shimmering powers. Both were killed when The Source released The Hollow during his conflict with The Charmed Ones.

Halliwell Manor: The family home of the Halliwells in San Francisco. It has been in the Halliwell family for many generations. The Manor is built on both a Wiccan and a spiritual nexus, making it a focus of great powers. The Woogyman is entombed in the basement.

Halliwell, Patricia Patty: The mother of The Charmed Ones and a Witch with the ability to freeze (particle manipulation). She was killed while attempting to destroy a water demon.
Though she was first married to Victor she later met and fell in love with the Whitelighter Sam, conceiving Paige.
Since death Patty has been summoned as a ghost on occasion, and was even returned to life by the Whitelighter Elders for Pipers wedding day.

Halliwell, Phoebe: Formerly the youngest, and most free spirited, of The Charmed Ones. Phoebe can be bold and fearless, loving and fighting with equal passion. Though she recently graduated from College Phoebe has yet to find a satisfying career path.
Phoebe possesses the ability of premonition, which grew allowing her to see into the past as well as the future, and also a second power of levitation. She is adept at writing spells, and crafting potions.
Phoebe's love in this life is Cole Turner, the once-evil Belthazor, but in a past life she was P. Russell, the soul mate of the Warlock Anton.

Halliwell, Piper: An accomplished Chef, and now owner of P3, Piper has never had the confidence that either of her sisters displays. She is the heart of the Halliwell family, and a natural peacekeeper.
Piper's ability is particle manipulation. At first this power allowed her to freeze, but later it grew to also allow her to explode objects at will.
Now married to the Whitelighter Leo, Piper has come a long way from the time when she thought the sisters powers marked them as evil.

Halliwell, Prudence "Prue": Prue was the eldest of The Charmed Ones. Her ability was telekinesis. At first she channeled this power through her eyes, but as it grew she began to channel it through her hands. Prue also later manifested the ability to astral project.
During her life Prue was both a photographer and an antiquities expert. Though she was only a few years older than her siblings she sometimes seemed more like a mother, and was fiercely protective of them, having sacrificed her own childhood to help raise them.
Prues childhood sweetheart was Andy Trudeau who was murdered by the demon Rodriquez. Sadly Prue was also killed by a demon, The Sources assassin Shax.
Though a reluctant Witch at first, Prue later came to love her calling. Nothing was more important to Prue than the innocents The Charmed Ones were given to protect.

Halloween: Also known as All Hallows Eve, this is a sacred day when the source of all magick can be tapped. These energies can be used by good or evil, allowing feats that would otherwise be impossible.
On Halloween the veils between worlds also thin and some demons, with the right knowledge, are able to return from vanquishing to wreak their revenge. Though Grimlocks vanquished by the Halliwells were able to return, they were swiftly dispatched yet again.
Because demons walk freely on Halloween the custom of wearing masks was begun, to hide the identity of mortals.

Hamilton, Judge "Free Willy": A demon in command of a legion of Guardians. He posed as a Judge in order to find criminals whom he could appoint Guardians too. He did this by giving the criminals Athemes that were connected to a Guardian.
Judge Hamilton appeared as an older human man, but this was a mask; in reality he was a purple, horrible looking demon. He possessed a selection of powers: the abilities to appoint guardians, which were housed within his demonic body; to shape shift between demon and human form; and also to toss balls of energy fire.
Whether the Judge was the only way for a Guardian to be appointed, or whether the Guardians simply used him as a useful conduit to find hosts is not known.
Cole Turner/Belthazor vanquished The Judge in retaliation for and attempt on the demon hybrids life.

Handfasting: The eternal joining of two people in love, Handfasting is a scared ceremony, presided over by a high priestess. Though the specifics or the ritual are not clear it is similar to a marriage, with the parties in question pledging their love and commitment to each other.

Harper, Justin: Former high-school classmate of Piper Halliwells and mortal with an interest in Prue. Their short-lived romance ended when the Warlock Zion impersonated Justin in a plot to turn Prue evil.

Healing: The ability to repair organic damage and eradicate disease. Whitelighters possess the ability to heal others and their own physical injuries, but cannot cure animals, revive the dead, or cure themselves of a wound from a Darklighters poison. They channel the power through their hands.
Some Warlocks and demons are also able to instantaneously heal their own wounds.

The power of healing Leo has the power to heal

Hear Secret Thoughts, To: A spell that allows those that cast it to hear thoughts. Prue and Piper cast this spell after suspecting that Dan and Jack may have been Warlocks. To cast the spell one must light candles and then recite these words:

As flame lights shadow,
And truth ends fear,
Open locked thoughts to my minds willing ear,
May the smoke from this candle into everywhere creep,
Bring innermost voices to my mind in speech

The spell does not have a time limit and must be reversed when it has outlived its usefulness.

Hear Your Hearts Desire, To: Written by Phoebe Halliwell to answer the question of whether or not she should marry Cole Turner, this spell summoned past and future versions of Phoebe to the Manor that remained in the present until they had answered her question.
A piece of paper with ones question upon it must be burnt while the spell was recited.

My heart is strong,
My spirit weak,
It is an answer that I seek,
A question burns within fire,
So I may hear my hearts desire

Heartbeat Ring: A magickal device that the Cupids used to slow time and implant subliminal thoughts in the hearts of potential lovers. It was also used to transport the Cupids between this realm and their own. Without them the Cupids were essentially powerless. The Heartbeat Rings were also capable of protecting their wearers from harm.

Hecate: Queen of the Underworld. When in mortal form she was known as Jade DeMoan. The only way to kill her was with a jeweled poniard. Comes to Earth every 200 years. Must find a mortal, put him under her spell, and marry him in a sanctified wedding. Needs to be impregnated. The resulting child would look human, but internally and mentally would be pure demon. As Jade had made a pact with the matriarch of the illustrious Spencer family to guarantee wealth in exchange for a marriage with her son, the child would also be born with all the power and influence of the Spencers at its disposal.
A priest was aware of Hecates return to earth and attempted to kill her, but was killed himself by one of Hecates demon guard. The Charmed Ones then secured the jeweled poniard and eventually used it, with the help of Elliot Spencer, to vanquish Hecate and her demonic entourage.

Hemlock Killing Spell: A death spell that appeared in the Book Of Shadows when it was turned to evil, a side effect of Prue and Zions Unholy Union. Its specific words and effect are unknown, but it is assumed that with the books reversion to good the spell was erased from its pages.

High Council: Meeting group of the higher demonic beings. They convene to discuss grave events, such as Warlocks killing demons and stealing their powers.

High Priestess: An advanced magick user, of good or evil origin. Dark High Priestesses are able to shield their activities from location by good magick, but both white and dark Priestesses are able to perform marriage ceremonies. See: Handfasting and Unholy Union.

The Hollow: Eons ago good and evil were forced to combine their strongest magicks to banish the threat of The Hollow to an ancient burial ground, appointing a representative from each side to guard the crypt against tampering.
A formless swirl of black, The Hollow almost decimated all magickal beings when it was first unleashed, capable of invading hosts and through them feeding its insatiable desire for magick. Using magickal abilities on The Hollow or its host is not only ineffectual, but results in The Hollow gaining the power to use as its own. These powers can then be drawn from The Hollow and invested in another being, but at great risk of the beings corruption and destruction. Hosts of The Hollow retain their consciousness and vulnerabilities, but if they are vanquished The Hollow will remain unharmed, simply infecting another host. The more magick The Hollow consumed, the stronger it became. Left unchecked it was capable of destroying both the mortal and demon planes.

The Hollow was able to materialise at will, moving from place to place, or crossing dimensions as it chose. When it was weak and newly released The Source had some control over it, calling it back to him once it had gathered powers and holding it in the only thing capable of containing it; an ancient box crafted for its imprisonment. The box could hold The Hollow temporarily and even draw it from a host, but to permanently banish it back to its tomb two beings, one good, one evil, must combine to recite the binding incantation inscribed on its side. Once bound any magickal powers The Hollow had drained would be returned to their owners, providing they still lived.

Hughes, Charlene: A former classmate of Phoebe Halliwells that was killed by a Libris demon. At first she could not accept that she was a ghost, but with the help of the sisters was able to move onto a higher plane. Unlike most ghosts Charlene was able to quickly master the ability to move objects and float, as well as make herself heard by certain mortals.

Ice-Blasting: This power worked by blowing on ones hand and creating a cloud of ice, or a focused blast of cold, capable of freezing people and objects. This power was held by one of the Halliwells great, great, aunts, P. Bowen.

Ice Cream Man: A mortal appointed by the Whitelighter Council to drive the Ice Cream Truck. When one dies, another is called. The Ice Cream Mans duty is to use the truck to ensnare and destroy demon children.

The Ice Cream Man The Ice Cream Man A former Ice Cream Man in combat

Ice Cream Truck: An ice-cream van created with magickal machinery. It is capable of capturing young demons and storing them in a pocket dimension inhabited by an entity called The Nothing, which consumes them.
Demon children are drawn to the truck by the sound of the Devils Chord, a series of chords specifically designed to attract them, and then sucked in through the window.
The truck is driven by the Ice Cream Man, a mortal charged by the Whitelighter Council with the task of hunting down demon children.
The only way to escape the trucks dimension is through the back door, which can only be opened by mortal hands.

The Ice Cream Truck Prue & Phoebe in the truck's dimension

Illusion, Demon of: A demon with the ability to cross over from reality into the realm of illusion, his goal is to create violence in society. His powers give him the ability to leap into movies, appearing on screens as though part of the show, as well as the power to freeze mortals watching a movie he was in, send characters from a movie into reality, and implant subliminal thoughts in the audience, making them violent and angry when they leave. Witches and other supernatural beings, such as Whitelighters, are immune to the Demon of Illusions powers.
The characters her sends out of films are also immune to the powers of Witches and can only be killed in the way they were killed in the movies; they are invulnerable to all other attacks.
To ensure those he affects are already open to his suggestions the Demon of Illusion usually chooses to hide in violent movies, preferring horror.
The Charmed Ones vanquished the Demon of Illusion by burning the film of the movie he was in, but it is not clear if there is a spell or a potion that would vanquish the demon magickally.

Immunity, Ring Of: Patty Halliwell was forced to bless this ring and give the Warlock Nicholas immunity to her daughters powers. When Nicholas was vanquished the ring fell into the possession of the Charmed Ones.

Incineration Demon: Piper Halliwell made short work of this demon with her explosive power. Though the demon was worthy of an entry in the Book Of Shadows the sisters did not need this information to vanquish him.
The Incineration demon looked like a human male, and possessed the pyrokinetic ability to incinerate human flesh. His power was channeled through his eyes.

Induce Sleep, Potion To: This potion puts whoever inhales it to sleep. Its ingredients are unknown.

P. Russells cousins curse and kill her Infinite Lives Curse: A curse cast against the Witch P. Russell, an incarnation of Phoebe Halliwell, by her cousins in order to vanquish her soul through all of its lives. It was designed to stop Russell and Anton, the warlock, from ever being together and becoming a powerful force for evil. It did this by ending the life of the reincarnated soul on February 17th, and would continue to kill the soul through all of its lives. The words to the curse were:

Evil Witch in my sight,
Vanquish thy self,
Vanquish thy might,
In this and every future life

The only protection from the curse was the amulet that Anton gave to Russell. Phoebe Halliwell was able to use it to stop the curse from ending her souls present life.

Inspiration, Ring Of: Created by good magick to channel creativity in times of desperate need. The Ring was capable of entrapping Muses, concentrating and directing their power.
The Leader of a Warlock Faction, Devlin, managed to appropriate the Ring for his plan to take over the demon world. The Charmed Ones foiled his plan, returning the Ring to its rightful owners and freeing the Muses Devlin had captured.

Instant Karma backfires for Paige MatthewsInstant Karma Spell: Capable of making a demon feel the pain of his victims, this spell can be cast with varying effects. When Paige Halliwell cast this spell she changed the word demon to dirtbag, casting it on a mortal that had been sexually harassing her.
In this situation the spell caused the harasser to become harassed himself, to an extreme degree.
Because Paige cast this spell for personal gain it had an unfortunate backfire: her breasts grew to disturbing proportions. They only returned to normal when Phoebe reversed the Instant Karma spell with a spell of her own creation. While speaking the words one must burn them on a piece of paper above a candle flame.

Guided spirits,
Hear our plea,
Annul this magick,
Let it be

Invoke The Power Of Three, To: The spell that the Halliwell sisters used to unbind their powers. It is at the front of the book of Shadows. Phoebe cast it by saying these words:

Hear now the words of the Witches,
The secrets we hid in the night,
The oldest of Gods are invoked here,
The great work of magick is sought

In this night and in this hour,
We call upon the ancient power

Bring your powers to we sisters three,
We want the power,
Give us the power

Immortality: The ability to live forever and not age. The Warlock Anton was said to be immortal.

Javna: A demon that drained the youth of others to maintain his own extended life, using the black magick power of the evil eye. He fed on life forces for one week out of every year, posing as the photographer Stefan to find his prey. The Charmed Ones invoked the Hand of Fatima, as the Prophet Mohammed had centuries before, to banish him. To invoke the hand one had to recite the words:

Evil eyes look unto thee,
May they soon extinguished be,
Bend thy will to the power of three,
Eye of earth, evil and accursed

The power of the Evil Eye The Hand Of Fatima Stephan (Javna) and Phoebe

This incantation triggered the manifestation of The Hand Of Fatima on Prue Halliwells own, and discharged a beam of energy destroying Javna.

Jane: Jane posed as a frightened woman in order to get Prue Halliwell to free her Warlock lover from the cursed painting. She had the power to ignite fire from her fingertips, but did not display any other abilities. Jane had always desired the power of premonition.
She was killed, along with her lover, when the cursed painting burned.

Jenna: A San Franciscan Witch who possessed one half of the Amulet Of Protection. She led a local coven, and was an expert at potion making. Her magickal abilities were never revealed.
Belthazor killed Jenna while under the influence of Reynor.

Jeremy: Jeremy was a Warlock that posed as a reporter, tricking Piper Halliwell into dating him. His goal was to kill the Charmed Ones and gain their powers. He had been watching the sisters for some time and knew that their bound powers would be released when Grams died.
Jeremy attacks the Charmed One'sIt is not clear what Jeremys original ability was but he was able to change his shape, ignite flames from his fingers, move objects with his mind (telekinesis), disintegrate objects and perform other magickal feats by directing energy through an Atheme, or ritual knife. Interestingly Jeremy also later displayed an ability to adjust to the freezing power. It is not known if this power to adjust worked against all powers or was specific to the power to freeze.
Jeremy was quite a strong Warlock as he was able to resist a spell cast by the Charmed Ones. However this did not prevent him from later being vanquished.
To vanquish Jeremy the Charmed Ones recited these words several times:

The power of three will set us free

Jeweled Poniard: A ceremonial dagger, used to kill Hecate, Queen of the Underworld. First possessed by a Priest, and later by the Halliwells, its origin is unknown.

Grams Johnson, Penelope Penny: Once the very much alive guardian of The Charmed Ones, Grams Halliwell now watches over the sisters from the afterlife as well. Sometimes she will appear to offer advice in a ghostly form, but most often she moves the pages in the Book Of Shadows to guide the sisters to a helpful spell or entry. As a spirit she has advanced to a place in the afterlife that is beyond the Whitelighter Council, enabling her to appear to her granddaughters when she feels the need.
A skilled and powerful Witch, Penelope wielded the ability of telekinesis through her hands. She also commanded a high level of magick skill, and crafted several of the spells in the Halliwell Book.
Penelope was the mother of Patricia Halliwell, and grandmother to The Charmed Ones, as well as a Wiccan High Priestess. While alive she had several husbands but, in her own words, never found true love.
