P3: The brainchild of Piper Halliwell, but owned by all the sisters, P3 is a San Franciscan nightclub. Its name is a nod to
the power of three.
Painting, The: Able to trap people within its picture, the Witch Nell created this magickal piece of art in the 1920's
to capture and hold the Warlock Malcolm. A curse, written in Latin, was the only way to activate the paintings vortex and
trap a being in its pocket dimension:
Absolvo amitto amplus brevis: Semper mea
"To free what is lost say these words: mine forever"
An intelligent and powerful Witch, Nell wrote the curse in lead underneath the surface of the paint, providing an irresistible
challenge to Malcolm's power of x-ray vision while also ensuring no innocents would accidentally recite the curse and become
trapped. What she did not anticipate was the creation of x-ray machines years later providing others access to the curse,
though she did create a spell to escape the painting as a failsafe:
Verva omnes liberant
"Words free us all"
After tricking The Charmed Ones into rescuing her lover after seventy years of imprisonment the Warlock Jane sought to
burn the painting with the sisters inside, but instead succeeded only in dooming Malcolm and herself.
Parallel Planes: Dimensions that run parallel to the mortal plane. Prue Halliwell and the Horseman War were banished to
one of these.
While on this plane Prue and War were able to communicate with the mortal world by appearing as pools of light, were able
to move some objects and make themselves recognized. Prue was even able to move the Halliwell spirit board, and War was able
to project his voice through a television.
Zion paralyses Prue Paralysis Potion: Dantalion created this potion to paralyze Prue Halliwell. Anyone affected by the
potion becomes incapable of physical movement, and soon after slips into unconsciousness for half a day. The key ingredient
of the potion is any item that has touched the intended victims lips. In Prue Halliwells case this was a lipstick. The item
is then combined with white flowers and the blood of a dying scorpion to yield the potion.
The Warlock Zion placed the potion on his lips and kissed Prue to place her under its effects. It is most likely that
the potion can be ingested in other ways, while still retaining the same outcome.
Particle Manipulation: Traditionally thought to be the ability to stop time in a localized area this power, held by Warren
Witches through the ages, is actually the manipulation of the speed of particles within molecules and energy into a state
of suspension, causing them to freeze, or hyper-excitement, making objects explode.
The power can be used to cause an explosion within an object, for example causing a glass to shatter, or to blast apart
all particle bonds in an object, disintegrating it.
Melinda Warren first possessed the stasis aspect of this power, called freezing, but Patty Halliwell and various other
Witches in the Warren line have also held it, though Piper Halliwell is the first Witch to use this power in an explosive
way. The range of the power is limited at first, usually to the room the Witch is in, but grows with use. A Witch needs to
activate this power with a gesture of the hands.
Witches are immune to the effects of this ability, as are some stronger demons.
Past Spell: A spell that was created by Grams to send the Charmed Ones back to their time after they were stranded in
the past. Grams and Patty both tried to cast the spell but it required more power, the power of the Charmed Ones. The spell
was:
A time for everything,
And to everything its place,
Return what has been moved,
Through time and space
Past Life Spell: A spell that lets the caster view the events of a past life. The person that journeys into their past
life can only observe, and cannot control events in any way. When in the past one is in the body of their past self, but is
able only to observe. They cannot control their body or alter events in any way. To cast the Past Life spell one needs only
say these words:
Remove the chains of time and space,
And make my spirit soar,
Let these mortal arms embrace,
The life that haunts before
Phoebe Halliwell was able to alter this spell slightly to allow her to journey into her past life, yet have control of
her past body. The spell involved the exchange of life forces between the caster and their past self: The person casting the
spell went back to their past life and their past self was brought forward into casters body. The altered words to this Past
Life spell were:
In this time and in this place,
Take the spirit I displace,
Bring it forth while I go back,
To inhabit a soul so black
Phoebe also wrote a companion spell capable of returning both souls to their rightful bodies and times:
In this time and in this place,
Take the spirit I displace,
Bring me forth while she goes back,
To her soul so black
Paul: A Warlock and member of the Rogue Coven. He possessed the ability to create force fields. These force fields were
even capable of blocking the effects of the freezing power. The ability appeared to be channeled through his hand.
Paul died protecting his half brother Brendon. He was killed with a knife to the heart, thrown by his brother Greg.
Pentagram: A magickal symbol. It can be used by good, or evil, depending on its presentation. For evil uses the Pentagram
is inverted.
Peters, Tom: Ex-footballer and college flame of Prues. After blowing out his knee in his rookie year he was recruited
by the demonic Training Academy, sacrificing his humanity and becoming a demon in exchange for the settling of his gambling
debts.
As a trainee demon Tom possessed the power to cast fire balls.
Pier Eighty-Six: The wharf location of the Rat Demons business on the mortal plane.
Poppet: A charm in the shape of a human form that Witches and magickal beings sometimes use in spells. Prue and Phoebe
Halliwell used a ninja doll as a substitute for a poppet when casting the awakening spell on Piper Halliwell.
Shane is possessed by The Sources Possession: The ability to control living beings actions by entering their body. Andras
is able to possess a host if they become angry enough, The Source is able to perform the act at will and certain ghosts can
escape the void and possess the living. Life essences are also able to possess a host, but they do so quite differently. For

When The Source possesses a person they retain no memory of their actions while possessed, but do retain a general sense
of uneasiness. In contrast those possessed by Ghosts retain the memories of acts committed, as do Andras' victims.
A life essence can be driven out of a host by a dispossessing spell and Andras was able to be forcibly removed from Belthazors
body by the strike of an energy ball. Ghosts and The Source must voluntarily relinquish their possession.
The Power Of Three Power Of Three, The: The combined magickal might of three Halliwell sisters, the Power Of Three is
far greater than the sum of its parts, and almost nothing can stand against it. The Power Of Three makes possible feats that
could not be accomplished by lesser Witches, with many spells and vanquishes requiring the power of three to work.
The Power Of Three is rooted in the Halliwells familial bond and if ever they use their powers against each other in anger
the triquetra on the Book Of Shadows separates and their magick ceases to be until that bond is repaired. Similarly a sisters
death will also break the Power Of Three, but does not strip the remaining sisters of their abilities as Witches, leaving
the charmed circle open to reformation by another sibling.
Power Stripping Potion: Phoebe Halliwell created this potion to strip Cole Turner of his abilities as Belthazor. Though
the object of the potion was to strip Coles powers, it appeared that it would also strip him completely of his demonic heritage,
taking him off the demonic radar.
The potion required several ingredients, including billings root, or ginger, chickweed, and dandelion. Once the ingredients
were mixed with water the potion needed to be shaken thoroughly for 200 heartbeats. After cooling and turning blood red the
potion was completed.
Phoebe created the potion to be ingested, but it was equally effective when a demon was hit with it. Belthazor was consumed
in flame and destroyed after being struck with the potion, but Cole Turner remained unscathed.
Power Switching Spell: A spell that enables people to interchange their powers. First cast by Piper to obtain Leos powers
and save him from death. To cast the spell you must say these words:
Whats mine is yours,
Whats yours is mine,
Let our powers cross the line,
I offer up this gift to share,
Switch our powers through the air
To reverse the power swap the spell must be cast again.
Power Tripling Potion: Given to P. Russell by the Warlock Anton, this potion is capable of tripling the strength of a
Witchs power.
Premonition: The psychic ability to see visions of the future first held in the Warren line by Melinda and later by Phoebe
Halliwell. The ability is psychometric, requiring contact with a person or object for a Witch to receive a premonitory flash,
but is wild and unpredictable, striking without warning.
Premonition grows with use, as other Witches abilities do. Phoebes premonition grew to enable her to see flashes of the
past as well as of the future, and at times she has demonstrated the power to purposefully call a vision if the psychic energy
left on an item is strong enough.
A Witchs premonitions are predominantly soundless and black and white, but sometimes will contain an important sound or
a coloured object.
Premonition was considered one of the more desirable powers to receive among the Warren Witches, despite its passive nature.
Prince, The: Ruler of a twelfth century kingdom and the object of the Evil Enchantress twisted plans. After falling sway
to her love spell he was ripped to the present by Paige Matthews and aided by The Charmed Ones.
With the Enchantresss powers bound the Prince was freed to love his Lady Julia once again.
Promote Compromise, To: A spell capable of influencing someone to make a reasonable agreement.
These words will travel,
Through the minds,
Of stubborn parties,
And unbind,
Thoughts too rigid to be kind,
A compromise theyll disentwine
Protected Circle: Created with old magick as a safe place for Charlotte to give birth to Melinda Warren, this circle created
a force field that prevented anyone from passing. A circle is created using apples, laurel leaves, and lavender and rosemary;
herbs of protection.
Though powerful the protection of the circle did not extend to blocking bullets.
Provisolli, Angela: Former wife of Stan Provisolli, she was murdered by Andrew Wyke to ensure she didnt reveal his money-laundering
scheme.
Provisolli, Stan: Possessed of the power of premonition, but terrified of the gift, Stan repressed his real magick as
a Witch in favour of becoming a parlor magician. After an encounter with The Charmed Ones he became more accepting of his
magick
Psychokinesis: Similar to telekinesis, this ability allows the bearer to move things they cannot see with the power of
their mind. Psychokinetic are even able to affect complex machinery whose inner workings are foreign to them, such as alarms.
When using this power the wielder goes into a trance like state. The young Witch Max and his mother both possessed psychokinesis.
Pyrokinesis: Generation of flame with the power of thought. A being with pyrokinetic power needs only concentrate on an
object to set it alight.
Rake: Demon and erstwhile friend to Belthazor. Cole Turner killed him to prevent demon kind from discovering he was alive.
Rat Demons: Capable of shifting their forms between human and rat these demons infiltrate human society through the world
of organized crime.
Their ranks are comprised of different levels of demons, with some of the higher rats possessing greater abilities such
as super speed, telekinesis, pyrokinesis, great strength, the ability to create and control solid energy constructs, the power
to shimmer and the capability to shape shift other beings into rodent forms.
Raying: teleportation ability used by Zotars. It takes its name from they rays of light that emanate from these bounty
hunters as they teleport in and out.
Reconstitution: Possessed only by The Source and demons of great power, this ability is a cousin to adjusting and strengthens
the molecular bonds in a beings form to the point that they cannot be permanently broken, as well as generating an energy
field capable of doing the same for their local molecular networks; for example clothing. Even when internally exploded by
particle manipulation molecules will rush back together, reforming completely without damage.
In some demonic beings this ability is so strong that particle acceleration either has no effect, or only strikes a staggering
blow, disrupting their form slightly but not exploding them at all.
Reincarnation: After a person dies their soul moves on to another life. A persons soul usually moves in the same circle
of souls; friends, lovers, and even enemies, from a past life are likely to be close to a soul in their next life.
As a soul passes through its various lives it learns and grows. If a soul makes mistakes it suffers a karmic setback.
For example P. Russell, a past life of Phoebe Halliwell, abused her flame throwing power and as a consequence Phoebe Halliwell
received a passive power in her next life.
Relinquishment Spell: In the direst of circumstances The Charmed Ones were forced to cast this spell to give up their
powers. One sister, or all, could cast it, but the effect remained the same; the complete removal of all of their magickal
attributes. If cast by one sister the words to the spell needed to be recited three times:
From whence they came,
Return them now
Vanish the words,
Vanish the powers
After the spell was cast the sisters powers vanished and everything in the Book Of Shadows was erased. The spell was only
reversed when Leo used his power to heal the Book.
After regaining their powers The Charmed Ones tore out the spell and burnt it, ensuring that it could never be used again.
Because of this The Source was forced to enter Piper Halliwells mind to try and convince her to relinquish the powers of the
sisters, proving that recitation of the spell was as effective on a mental plane as a physical one.
Removal Spell: Created spur of the moment by the ghost of Grams and Phoebe Halliwell to remove the threat of Inspector
Cortez from the attic. It had the specific effect of teleporting the Inspector to Timbuktu.
Take him back,
Take him away,
Remove him now,
Dont let him stay,
We call the spirits to help undo,
And send him off to Timbuktu
Repel An Evil Threat, Potion To: Though this potion does exist, and is written in the Book Of Shadows, its ingredients
and exact effect are unknown.
Return Spell: A spell that can be used to return to the past. This spell can only be used once and is to be used in conjunction
with the future spell. This spell has never been cast.
Reveal A Demon, Potion To: A potion that can reveal the identity of a demon that is masquerading as a human. Just a drop,
if consumed, will reveal a demon, causing its throat to constrict and allowing a Witch time to escape.
Reynor: Once leader of The Brotherhood Of The Thorn, Reynor was killed by Cole Turner as retribution for stripping him
of Phoebe Halliwells love.
Though Reynor was of the same class of demon as Belthazor, and extremely powerful, his most dangerous ability was his
telepathy. With it he was able to read minds and discern secrets, as well as project information and influence others actions.
This ability seemed to require close proximity to his target for his to function.
Reynor also displayed the abilities to shimmer and cast energy balls, but it is likely he had more abilities. He appeared
as human male, but he probably had a demon form also. What this demon form looked like is unknown.
Ring, Victor Bennetts: A ring worn by Victor Bennett, the father of The Charmed Ones, capable of protecting its wearer
from magick. The ring had stones of crystallite and dated back to the 17th century. It was the wedding band of Victor Bennett
and Patty Halliwell.
Rite Of Passage: A trial for Witches. This occurred to the Halliwells on their one-year anniversary of the restoration
of their powers. The entry in the Book Of Shadows on a Rite Of Passage is cryptic:
Rite Of Passage - Fight it with the power of one or else a more powerful evil that awaits will destroy you
The Trial for the Charmed Ones came in the form of Abraxas. The power of one they used to destroy him was their unity
as sisters.
Rodriquez: A demon with the power to throw energy bolts. These bolts were quite powerful and usually killed whomever they
struck. He attempted to kill the Charmed Ones with the aid of Tempus. He also was able to use a screaming power to kill his
human partner.
Rodriquez had red eyes when he was using his power, but it is unclear if his human form was his true form. While human
he posed as an internal affairs cop.
Prue was able vanquish him by throwing his bolts back at him, but not before he killed Andy Trudeau.
Rogue Coven, The: An evil counterpart to the Charmed Ones. The Warlock line of the Rogue Coven has grown stronger since
the 10th century, and no Witch has been able to find a spell or weapon to stop them. The prophecy tells of three brothers
from this line destined to be the most powerful force for evil the world has known.
Brendon Rowe's Warlock face Rowe, Brendon: A half-human, half-Warlock hybrid. Brendon was destined to be part of the Rogue
Coven but his human side proved stronger than his Warlock side. Brendon escaped his Warlock heritage by becoming a priest,
but only after narrowly escaping corruption by his Warlock brothers, Greg and Josh.
Brendons father was a Warlock and his mother was human. Because of his Warlock heritage he possessed some Warlock powers.
He had the ability to change into a demon form but whether he had any other abilities is unknown.
To turn Brendon to his Warlock side his brothers had to force him to kill an innocent. The only way for Brendon to expunge
his Warlock side was to embrace God through the priesthood and renounce his powers and Warlock half.
Russell, P: A Witch from the 1920s, and previous incarnation of Phoebe Halliwells soul. She was seduced to evil by the
Warlock Anton and then cursed by her cousins to prevent she and Anton joining forces. Russells ability was that of flame throwing.
Russell was a cousin to one of the antecedents of the Charmed Ones.
