Scavenger Demon: Low in the ranks of the demon hierarchy Scavengers feed on the remains of other demons victims.
Scavengers are covered head to toe in shiny, black, hardened skin and secrete a green, webbing like fluid. In some cases they can use this fluid to drop down from the ceiling and surprise unsuspecting prey, or even entangle victims by casting it from their palms.
Far from a formidable foe a Scavenger possess no supernatural talents beyond enhanced strength. They can be vanquished by an energy ball, but are likely equally as vulnerable to the magick of Witches.

Scrying: A technique Witches use to magickally find and object or a person. To scry a Witch needs a map, a piece of string, and a crystal. The string is tied around the crystal and held over a map, with the crystal gravitating to the place, or thing, you were seeking.
At times a Witch needs something closely associated with a being to locate it, for example a piece of clothing or some blood. A Warlock cannot be found through scrying.

Séance: A ceremony to summon the spirits of the deceased. To perform it you must light six candles in a circle, three white and three purple, and burn cinnamon, sandalwood, and frankincense, while chanting the following. You may summon a specific spirit, substituting their name for unknown, or make a general call for knowledge to the spirit world.
Instructions for performing a seance

Hear these words,
Hear my cry,
Spirit from the other side,
Come to me,
I summon thee,
Cross now the great divide

Beloved unknown spirit we seek your guidance,
We ask that you commune with us and live among us

If making a general call a spirit capable of answering your question will appear to you, though the power of three may be required. Summoning a familiar spirit is simpler, requiring only the recitation of the first part of the spell and the power of a single Witch.
A seasoned spirit may chose whether or not they wish to answer a call, and may also disappear at will. Witches can only summon those they are cosmically allowed to see, with calling of the recently deceased forbidden as it keeps them alive in the minds of those that loved them, preventing them from moving on.

Second Level Demons: Demons operate under a hierarchy, and in order to advance through the ranks they must foster evil and destroy good. Litvack was a second level demon, but the ranks of other demons are unknown.

See Fairies & Trolls, Spell To: A spell Prue Halliwell cobbled together from other spells in the Book of Shadows. It was written to allow the Halliwells to see Fairies and Trolls when the fairy dust failed them.
When first cast the spell was unsuccessful, but later Piper Halliwells belief was able to make it work.
After the spell outlived its usefulness it was automatically reversed.

In this tween time,
This darkest hour,
We call upon the sacred power,
Three together stand alone,
Command the unseen to be shown,
In an innocence we search the skies,
Enchanted are our newfound eyes

Seekers: Demonic cousins to vampires. They are able to absorb the knowledge of those they slay by biting into the back of their victims necks and feeding on brain stem cells. This talent made them a particularly dangerous foe for The Charmed Ones.
In addition to the power to drain knowledge seekers were also able to float through the air, and teleport from place to place. The seekers encountered by The Charmed Ones also possessed the ability to sense, and follow, shimmers, as well as detect the presence of other demons.
Vanquishing seekers requires the power of three, and a vanquishing spell from the Book Of Shadows:

Knowledge gained by murderous means,
Is wisdoms bitter enemy,
The mind that burns with stolen fire,
Will now become your funeral pyre

Seer, The: Endowed with a powerful psychic vision, The Seer was able to scan probable futures at will and was capable of choosing exactly what she wished to see; a direct contrast to the wildness of the premonition power. Because of this ability she was a supremely valuable, and loyal, ally to The Source but ultimately always served her own agenda. While engaging her vision power The Seers eyes become opaque, rendering her temporarily blind.
The Seers appearance as an African American woman belied her true demonic nature, her cunning and intelligence overlooked by Witches, demons and mortals alike.
A high level demon, The Seer possessed great knowledge of potions, spells, and arcane lore as well as an additional power to fade, teleporting at will.

Send A Cupid Home, Spell To: A travel potion with an aphrodisiac kicker. It was composed of: lavender, oysters, rosemary, and chocolate. But they key ingredient was desire, the desire to go home. The Cupid drank this and then the Charmed Ones were to say a few words, sending him back to his realm. What these words were is unknown, as Cupid regained his ring and was able to use it to return home.

Send Oneself To A Lover: This re-working of the spell To Call A Lover To Oneself was able to create a portal in time allowing Paige and Leo to travel to the twelfth century.

Bring together my prince and me,
His kingdom now I wish to see,
Crossing history to his side,
From myself I will not hide

Separate A Witch From Their Powers, To: A potion that separates a Witchs primary magickal powers from her body. It must be ingested and then given time to take effect before it works. Once the powers have been separated from a Witch they can be called to another vessel using the spell To Call A Witches Power.
This potion will make a Witches powers vulnerable to calling, but not her inherent magick. Even after losing their powers a Witch will retain the ability to perform magick feats, like spells, and remains immune to the effects of particle manipulation.

Seven Deadly Sins, The: Anger, envy, gluttony, greed, lust, pride and sloth. The Source creates glowing balls of these sins, capable of corrupting paragons of good and destroying them, placing them in the sin box for Lucas and his demon couriers to utilise.
A being is infected with the sin they are naturally predisposed to, magnifying it until it consumes them, and forcing them into a sinful act that causes their destruction within the space of a few hours. In the case of Witches infection with a sin also had a negative effect on their powers, weakening both their strength and control, to the point where their abilities eventually no longer functioned.
As sin is integral to every beings nature there was no spell capable of removing a sin ball once infected. Only Lucas death would remove the sins from those he had infected, though he could chose to remove sins if he wished.
A selfless act by an infected being could remove a sin but this was extremely difficult to accomplish while consumed, and impossible for those infected by pride; to the extremely prideful there was no such thing as a selfless act as every action, no matter how beneficial to others, was ultimately committed for the greater glory of themselves.

Shadow: A feline familiar who betrayed his Witch, becoming a Warlock. The potion that turned him into a Warlock also killed his former owner, transferring her power of projective levitation to him. In addition to this ability Shadow also possessed the power to teleport, and the ability to adjust, breaking free of molecular stasis.
Because Shadow was a former cat familiar he had to shed nine lives before he could become an immortal Warlock. The Charmed Ones froze him at the moment of his ninth death, casting a spell to make him feel the pain of all of his vanquishes, killing him. The spell was:

Nine times this evils cheated death,
Felt no pain,
And kept its breath,
This Warlock standing in our midst,
Let him feel what he has missed

A potion accompanied this spell. It needed to be thrown on the Warlock before the spell could be cast.

Shane: Short-lived boyfriend of Paige Halliwell. After his possession by The Source their relationship ended. Though Shane could not remember his possession he was aware that something bad had happened, and that the evil was somehow connected to Paige.

Shape shifters: Demons with the ability to alter their physical forms. Their true form is not known. The Halliwell sisters encountered three shape shifters who tried to steal the Book of Shadows. They were vanquished by a spell to rid a home of evil. The words were:

When in the circle that is home,
Safeties gone and evils roam,
Rid all beings from these walls,
Save sisters three,
Now heed our call

Shax: The Sources assassin. He possessed the ability to transform into air molecules and travel like a wind, and also to project energy waves capable of killing whomever they struck. A formidable demon, he was able to withstand the force of his own energy waves, strikes by energy balls and discorporation by Piper Halliwells molecular acceleration power.
Shax could only be vanquished by the power of three, though Prue and Piper Halliwell possessed sufficient power to destroy him in an alternate timeline. If his vanquishing spell were cast by anything less than The Charmed Ones Shax would be momentarily wounded, but not truly destroyed. The vanquishing spell was:

Evil wind that blows,
That which forms below,
No longer may you dwell,
Death takes you with this spell

Piper, Phoebe and Paige were finally able to use this spell to vanquish Shax, but not before he had killed their sister Prue. When in human form Shax appeared as a muscular man with blue, or sometimes grey, skin and long hair.

Sheridan, Jack: A former flame of Prue Halliwell's. Jack was a mortal and antiquities expert like Prue. His relationship with Prue ended when she quit her job at Bucklands.
Jack had a twin brother, Jeff, a mortician.

Shimmering: The teleportation ability used by Belthazor demons. This power not only allows them to teleport to different places, but also to different realms and dimensions. Demons with this power are able to shimmer others along with themselves if in physical contact with them.
In between shimmering out and then back in ones physical momentum can either be maintained or cancelled out. Cole Turner was able to save himself from a deadly plunge by shimmering out mid fall, re-appearing in a stationary position.

Shocker demon: Composed of electrical energy, this demon was able to manifest in its energy form whenever electrical power was utilized. Once cohered a shocker demon can electrocute with a touch or fire bolts of electricity.
Piper Halliwells particle manipulation was able to discorporate a shocker demon, sending it into retreat, but they can only be truly vanquished by a power of three spell.

Vanquish we three Witches cry!
One last shock and then you die

Sign Spell: A spell that was created by Phoebe Halliwell to resolve Piper Halliwells romantic dilemma. The spell was intended to provide Piper with signs that would point her towards her true love. Instead the spell led the sisters to the location of their kidnapped sister Prue, whom Piper obviously loved. The spell involved crushing some sort of herbs over the words to the spell and reciting them:

I beseech all powers above,
Send a sign to free my sisters heart,
One that will lead her to her love

Though the sign spell overtly pointed to the whereabouts of Prue Halliwell the signs could also be interpreted as pointing towards Dan and Leo, Pipers two loves. However it appears that once Prue was found the spell ceased to function, implying that the primary purpose of the spell was to locate Prue.

Silhouette Demon: A demon that was part of Cole Turners shadow. It was an independent being, observing Coles actions and relaying reports to the Triad. Once Cole betrayed them the Silhouette demon abandoned him.
This demon seemed like an ordinary shadow, but once it choose to move it could slither away at great speed, leaving Cole Turner suspiciously shadow less.

Smart Spell: A spell created by Phoebe Halliwell. This spell increased the intelligence of the person casting it and also allowed them to absorb knowledge through the touch of either hand. This allowed them to read books, newspapers, etc. instantaneously. The effects of the spell lasted for 24 hours, after which all the knowledge gained was forgotten. This is the incantation to cast the spell. Whilst saying it you must hold the written spell to your forehead:

Spirits send the words from all across the land,
Allow me to absorb them through the touch of either hand,
For 24 hours from 7 to 7,
I will understand,
All meaning of the words from here to heaven

Smith, Emilio: A murderer that was protected by two separate Guardians, at different times; both of whom were defeated by The Charmed Ones. It is presumed that he was sent to jail.

Smoking: A variant power used by Furies combining transmutation with teleportation. When teleporting out a Fury will disperse into smoke and then reappear from the same substance in a new location.

Sorcerer: Beings that are able to wield magicks. It appears that they do not have a single magickal talent, as Witches do, but they do possess the ability to perform magickal feats. Whether Sorcerers are human or demon remains to be seen.

Sorcerer, The: A stock broking Sorcerer who used his magick to build a business empire. He desired Brook, a woman who worked for him, but she loved another. To keep Brooke and her love apart The Sorcerer cursed them, hoping this would eventually force Brooke to return his affections. For more information on the curse see: Lycanthropy Curse, The.

The Sorcerer possessed many abilities. His specific powers are not known but he was able to move things with his mind, alter molecular structures, teleport others away from him and teleport them back, and also control the computers in his office with a gesture.
Henchman, who possessed some of his powers, served the Sorcerer. They were able to teleport and also able to alter molecular structures to create crossbows and crossbow bolts. It is most likely these henchmen were humans who had been granted their powers by The Sorcerer, and he was able to vanquish them at will.
The Sorcerer was destroyed when The Charmed Ones helped Brooke and Christopher break The Lycanthropy Curse, vanquished by their love.

Soul Switching Potion: Paige Halliwell carelessly created this potion while studying magick. Though it had several ingredients it was powdered toadstool that triggered a body switching.
Once mixed one needed to throw some powdered toadstool into the pot, while concentrating on the individual they wished to switch souls with. If successful there is a brief loss of consciousness while the transfer occurs, your soul moving into their body, and theirs entering your own.
When switching bodies a Witchs abilities will not be transferred, but other mystical powers, such as Zen discipline will remain with their native soul.

South Bay Social Services: A provider of community services to the San Franciscan area. Paige Matthews is employed there as an assistant.

Spells: An extension of the will of supernatural beings whereby they can affect the physical world. The Halliwells most often cast spells to vanquish demons, but a spell can be cast for any cause or reason. A spell most often requires the reciting of words, known as an incantation, and sometimes the mixing of herbs and other ingredients into a potion. Demons, warlocks, and any other manner of magickal beings are also able to cast spells.

Spirit Board: An Ouiji board that The Charmed Ones used to contact the spirit world. It seems to be attuned to receive supernatural messages; whether from beyond the grave, or from an unknowing Witch such as Max, via psychokinesis.

Spirit Killer: A Darklighter with a specific goal: to destroy the lives of future Whitelighters through telepathic suggestion and bad luck, goading them into committing suicide. Spirit Killers displayed powers similar to that of a normal Darklighters, but seemed to have the extra ability to curse others with bad luck. To do this they sent black orbs into the bodies of the person they wished to curse.
Spirit Killers also often used their ability to manipulate local molecular structures to change their clothing and impersonate others, and used their telepathy to plant thoughts in the minds of their victims. When they did this they were able to make the false thoughts sound as though they were really the thoughts of the victim, and consequently get the victim to accept them as their own.
A Whitelighter can destroy a Spirit Killer but it is unknown whether a Witch is able to vanquish one.

A Spirit Killer impersonates a policeman A Spirit Killer as a Dr. A Spirit Killer goades Prue Halliwell to suicide A Spirit Killer is taken by Leo

Statler, Gabrielle: A Lord of War. He was disgraced by the Witch Brianna and consequently had to steal his abilities back once reincarnated, according to the honor code of the Lords. Gabrielle was a smart tactician and quite ruthless. He killed his own sister rather than let her be used to blackmail him. Gabrielle had a crystal sword, and had already stolen back some of his abilities. He was still lacking the power of a first-born Witch when the Charmed Ones vanquished him.

Statler, Helena: The sister of Gabrielle. It is unknown whether Helena was a Lord of War, or merely a human relative of a Lords reincarnated form. Helena displayed no supernatural abilities and did not have a crystal sword, the weapon of the Lords of War.

Helena helped Gabrielle in his plans, but he killed her rather than be put in a tactically inferior position.

Street Prophets: Supernatural humans who have the uncanny ability to predict future events, known as magical seers. They seem like homeless humans; crazy, dirty, and smelly; so most people ignore their predictions.

Strengthen A Warlock Side, Spell To: A spell in Latin that Brendon Rowes Warlock brothers cast on him. The spell brought forth his Warlock nature and smothered his human side, turning him evil. He was able to break the spell and force his Warlock nature back down because of his feelings for Prue Halliwell.

Stretch The Imagination, To: Paige Halliwell cast this spell from the Book Of Shadows on Glenn Belland in the hopes it would better allow him to accept her existence as a Witch.

Let mind and body soar,
To heights not reached before,
Let limits stretch,
That you may catch,
A new truth to explore

The spells intent was for Glenns mind to be expanded, but instead his body gained the ability to stretch like rubber, in turn allowing him to believe the truth about witchcraft.

Strife: A Horseman of the Apocalypse. He was a demon with the ability to incite masses of people to commit crazed acts of violence. See also: Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse, The.

Strobe Potion: A potion to create flashes of light and smoke, similar to a strobe. The Charmed Ones used it to disorient Warlocks and stop them from blinking.

Succubus: A Witch that has renounced all human emotion and made a pact with darkness to protect her from heartbreak becomes a Succubus, a kind of sexual predator. She feeds on the testosterone of powerful men, who are helpless against her power. The Succubuss has the power to bewitch men, putting them completely under her control, and making them believe that that they love her.
The only way to kill a Succubus is by burning it. But to do this you must first attract it. To attract a Succubus a Witch must sit in a male symbol, surrounded by candles, and recite these words:

By the forces of heaven and hell,
Draw to us this woman foul,
Run from her foul desire,
That she may perish as a moth to fire

When Prue Halliwell cast this spell she transformed herself into a man. It is not known whether this is the true purpose of the spell. Prue only reverted to being a woman once the Succubus was destroyed.
Phoebe Halliwell thought that she may have been a Succubus, but she was simply psychically connected to one. Why this happened is unknown.

Summoning Spell: A spell that the sisters used to summon Melinda Warren back from the dead to aid them. The spell worked by blood calling blood. The sisters cut themselves and placed their blood in Melindas locket. Once done they said the words:

Melinda Warren,
Blood of our blood,
Our great, great, great, great, great, great, great, grandmother,
We summon thee

This caused the summoned to appear in a flash of magickal lights. Once summoned the dead returned as a flesh and blood being, and they possessed any magickal abilities they held while alive. Though The Charmed Ones cast this spell specifically to return Melinda Warren from the dead it is assumed it would work with any familial relation, as the spell worked by the power of the family lines blood.
To release the summoned, and return them to the realm of the dead, the following incantation needed to be performed:

Melinda Warren,
Blood of our blood,
We release you

Super Speed: Movement far in excess of normal mortal levels. The Source and Rat Demons have both demonstrated super speed capabilities.

Susan: Friend to Carrie and a sister Witch, she was also a member of the triple crescent coven. Unlike Carrie she survived the rampage of the demon Sykes.

Sutter: A greedy man whose cruelty resulted in the cursing of the Ghost Town into a time loop. After arriving in the town Sutter and his men took control, killing the Sheriff and anyone else who opposed them.
Sutters plan was to divert railway construction through the town, thereby growing rich from the resulting property sales. To this end he killed Beau Light feather, making him an example of what happened when Sutter was crossed.
With Prue Halliwell and Cole Turners intervention events were changed, Beau was saved, and Sutter defeated, leaving him rotting in jail now that the Ghost Town is free of the time loop.

Sykes prepares an energy ballSykes: Hoping to emulate the legendary demon Belthazor, Sykes copied him by posing as an assistant district attorney and targeting Witches. If not for the intervention of The Charmed Ones he would have slain all of the Witches in the triple crescent coven, rather than just one of their number. Once Sykes targeted a coven he did not rest until all of its members had been murdered. Thanks to a self-sacrificing gesture on the part of Cole Turner, Sykes rampage was stopped; an enraged Belthazor killing him with his own atheme.
Sykes preferred method for killing Witches was an atheme but like Belthazor he was able to cast energy balls, was extremely strong and capable of shimmering. Sykes also possessed a human form, but unlike Belthazor he was pure demon and not a human/demon hybrid. When in demon form he was large and muscular, with black skin and red facial markings.
Smart and tough, Sykes was extremely hard to dispatch; even capable of surviving a full powered energy ball. Yet, like all high level demons, a potion utilising a piece of his own flesh could vanquish him.

Tara: Made by the alchemist Kierkan from his own blood, Tara was magickally stronger than the average life essence and in possession of the same alchemist's abilities Kierkan had. Cunning and powerful, Tara had a lust for newfound life that caused it to escape it's maker, possessing Piper Halliwell to trick The Charmed Ones into vanquishing him.
Prue and Phoebe Halliwell attempted to use the dispossessing spell to remove Tara from Piper, but it was ineffectual. Tara was so strong only the Power Of Three was capable of forcing her from a host and destroying her.

Tarkin: A member of The Brotherhood Of The Thorn, he shared a particular closeness with Belthazor, but was loyal to the Brotherhood first and the demon second.
Tarkin was a high level demon, strong, resistant to injury, and capable of shimmering and casting energy balls; none of which saved him from being exploded by Piper Halliwells particle acceleration.

Tarot Cards: Pictured cards often used as a prop during psychic readings. Ironically, in some Witches hands, tarot cards are capable of providing vague warnings about future events.

Tate, Matthew: A Warlock from the 17th century with the ability to copy any power that is used against him. In addition to this natural talent Matthew has also shown the ability to blink. For a time he possessed the abilities of Melinda Warren, and later Prue, Piper and Phoebe Halliwell. Matthew also displayed the ability to drop ten stories and land on his feet. It is not clear whether this was a function of another power of an extension of his control over the power of telekinesis.
Matthew was freed from his confinement in the locket by Prue and teamed with Rex and Hannah in an attempt to obtain the powers of The Charmed Ones. A summoned Melinda Warren and the sisters cursed him back into the locket.

Prue throws a demon telekinetically Telekinesis: The ability to move things with your mind. Telekinesis can be used to move solid objects as well as some forms of energy, such as flame or energy balls.
Melinda was the first in the Warren line to possess this power, passing it down to Brianna, Penelope Johnson (Grams), and Prue Halliwell, among others. At first Witches channel this power through the eyes but, as it grows, they also begin channeling it through their hands.
Other magickal beings possess telekinetic power, such as The Source and Lazarus demons, activating the ability in different ways.

Paige's power takes her, and her sisters, by surprise Telekinetic-Orbing: Unique to Paige Matthews because of her mixed heritage as a half-Witch and half-Whitelighter, this power is a synthesis of telekinesis and orbing. Instead of physically moving through space an object will orb out and then back in to a place of Paiges choosing, instantaneously. At will Paige can also orb an object out and then imbue it with telekinetic momentum as it orbs back in, sending it flying.
Paige Matthews activates this power vocally. Should she wish to move an object she 'calls' for it by speaking its name aloud, at times even indicating an intended destination. For example crying crystals and circle would orb the crystals out, and then back in arranged in a circular pattern.

Telepathy: A versatile ability whose base is the power to read and control minds. It can also have other applications such as projection of thoughts, clouding of minds, casting of illusions and mental communication between dimensions.
The Warlock Rex displayed this power, and was also able to use it to astral project. The demons Litvack and Reynor also displayed telepathic abilities, as do Whitelighters, Darklighters and The Source.

Teleportation: The ability to move from place to place instantaneously. There are several variations of this power: Blinking, Flaming, Shimmering, Smoking and Raying.

Temporal Echoes: Transparent apparitions similar to ghosts, temporal echoes are the sights and sounds of beings that have been cursed into a time loop bleeding across into out reality. Witches are able to detect temporal echoes but mortals can rarely see or hear them.
When a temporal echo of Beau Light feather fell through Phoebe Halliwell the two became psychically linked by their magick, with Phoebe experiencing any injuries Beau received in the Ghost Towns time loop. She was only restored, and the link broken, when the time loop had ended.

Temporal Portal: Using a variant of her love spell potion to create portals through time, the Evil Enchantress was able to follow her Prince to the twenty-first century as well as return them to their proper time. Her potion required a lock of the Lady Julias hair, but its other ingredients are not known.

Temporal Tunnel: A vortex that was created by the Whitelighter Council on Halloween to cast The Charmed Ones back in time to the 1600s. It is most likely the elders only possessed the power to do this on the sacred day.
Once the sisters had accomplished their task the vortex opened again, returning them to their proper time.

Tempus: A Demon with the ability to alter time also known as The Devils Sorcerer. He works directly for The Source. He was able to set a time loop to help Rodriquez kill The Charmed Ones, and is also said to have the ability to reset time. He fled back to the demon dimension after The Charmed Ones defeated him.

The Charmed Ones reformed The Charmed Ones: Before burning at the stake Melinda Warren prophesized that each generation of Warren Witches would grow stronger culminating in the arrival of The Charmed Ones. Three sisters that would be the most powerful Witches the world had ever seen: Prue, Piper, and Phoebe Halliwell. Each sister possesses their own abilities but their combined might, the power of three, is where their real strength lies. Almost no demon or Warlock can stand against it. While Witches normally have one magickal power, the abilities of The Charmed Ones have grown, giving them several.
With Prue Halliwells death the Power Of Three was shattered. However hope for its reconstitution was brought by the arrival of Piper and Phoebes half sister, Paige.

The Source: An ethereal entity of supreme supernatural evil and magickal power. The Source has been hosted by many demons over the ages, moving to a new host as the last is vanquished, and taking on new characteristics to add to its own. As such each Source is different to the last while still retaining the memories, powers and characteristics it has accumulated down the ages.
Each time The Source moves into a new host a ceremony must take place granting them unrestricted access to the full powers of The Source, while at the same time crowning them as putative ruler of demon kind. The coronation must be conducted by a dark priest and requires that The Source be touching the ancient and powerful demonic Grimoire.

The Source: The first host of the supremity of supernatural evil known as The Source encountered by The Charmed Ones. This Source had been in power for hundreds of years, disfiguring his face in his battle to host the ancient entity.
Higher-level demons were able to communicate with The Source through swirling balls of supernatural fire, and all demons were able to sense his glory, as a reminder of his power. In turn The Source was able to sense and summon all of his subjects, especially if they focused their concentration on locating him, but few demons ever met this Source, and even fewer saw his disfigured face.
Using his ability to shape shift The Source assumed many forms but his most favoured was that of a hooded humanoid, with black space concealing his damaged face. A flash of supernatural flame accompanied each shift in form.
The Source had the powers of pyrokinesis, telekinesis, adjusting, reconstitution, flaming and possession; was able to phase, appearing as a non-corporeal entity; cast flame balls and force blasts; could move at extremely fast speeds; generate electrical fields; and turn back the path of time, as Tempus can. The Source was also telepathic, able to read souls; project and hear thoughts, even across dimensions; create mental illusions; and cloud minds, subtly influencing them.
On the rare occasion that he was injured The Source gushed black blood, while his very presence was enough to momentarily disrupt electrical systems and lights.
The Source II: Unable to overcome Cole Turners intrinsic love for Phoebe Halliwell this incarnation of The Source was instead forced to integrate that love into its being, using it as a font of strength to regain the throne of the underworld.
After being absorbed into Cole by the power of The Hollow the weakened spirit of The Source only had subconscious control of its new body, but quickly gained both strength and power to subsume Coles personality, though it was never able to completely eradicate the humanity within it. Though it wore Cole Turners mortal body The Source was recognizable by the flaming black eyes it would sometimes display to demons to gain their obeisance.
As other Sources had before him this Source possessed a great array of powers; flame balls; flaming; molecular control; telekinesis; shape shifting; invulnerability, with almost no magickally ability able to permanently harm him; and telepathy capable of both reading and manipulating minds. But by far his most useful ability was his shielding against the power of premonition. While his evil side held strong Phoebes power was completely useless on him, guaranteeing his true nature remained a secret from The Charmed Ones until his coronation granted him access to his full powers as The Source.
The Sources greatest ally was The Seer, though she closely guarded her true agendas. As the new power in the underworld The Source brought about an unprecedented alliance between different demonic races while also finally eradicating the scourge of Vampires from the dimensions.

The Source Vanquishing Spell: Drawing upon the enormous power amassed by the Witches of the Warren line through the ages The Charmed Ones hoped to vanquish The Source. Their plan was to first trap him within the magick circle forcefield and then recite the spell while he was vulnerable.

Ashley, Helena, Laura and Grace,

Halliwell Witches stand strong beside us,
Vanquish this evil from time and space

The spell vanquished The Sources current physical form, but his evil and power had already been absorbed by The Hollow and were able to survive to be reborn within Cole Turner.

Thomas, Father: A human Empath. His ability was channeled through his hands, and this was how he was able to curse the demon Vinceres with his empathic ability. When the demon went to kill him Father Thomas lay his hands on Vinceres and transferred the empathic gift into a curse to halt the demons rampage.
Once his empathy was removed he could not cope with the loss, suffering a nervous breakdown because of his inability to help others. He was then committed to the Crest Hills Psychiatric Hospital until The Charmed Ones liberated him to help them vanquish Vinceres.
Once this was done he returned to his church, confident in his ability to help others, even without his supernatural gift.

Time Acceleration Spell: A spell that the Charmed Ones cast to accelerate time. It made many hours pass in seconds. A byproduct of this spell was that Tempus time loop was shattered. While time was accelerated for the world, it seemed to move at a normal pace in the locality of the Halliwells. The words to the spell were:

Winds of time gather round,
Give me wings to speed my way,
Rush me on my journey forward,
Let tomorrow be today

Time loops in the Book Of Shadows Time Loops: A time loop is the repetition of a period of time, over and over, ad infinitum. Loops can be localized to a particular place or group of people, as with the loop that affected the Ghost Town, or can effect time totally. If a time loop's effects are localized then the affected beings will experience events in a parallel plane inhabiting the same physical, but different temporal, space to that of our time/space continuum.
A loop can be caused in two separate ways; by deliberate action of a supernatural being capable of manipulating time, such as Tempus or The Source; or as a reaction to a grievous act of evil. In the second case the time loop will continue until the grievous wrong that caused it has been rectified.


Training Academy: A terrifying program dedicated to turning mortals into demons, by destroying their humanity.
The demon Kelman struck bargains with humans in need, delivering them to the Academy for training, in exchange for solving their problems. Once there their humanity was literally beaten out of them, the fights staged in a ring for demonic amusement.
During the training humans became more and more demonic, gaining marked indentations on their left forearms. A Sixth mark signaled that a mortal had become entirely demonic, but to gain it and become a demon a trainee must kill a random innocent, a process called Graduation.
The Halliwell sisters vanquished Kelman, scaring away his demon underlings and restoring the humans who had not yet become full demons.

Transformation: The ability to manipulate reality and transform organic and non-organic objects. For example turning a wedding planner into a pig, and Leo into a literal stick in mud. While under the influence of Dantalions evil Piper and Phoebe Halliwell possessed this ability.

Transmogrification: Changing shape or form, even into that of inanimate objects. The Warlock Eames held this power, but he had stolen it from a Witch in Kenya.

A member of The Triad, The: Also known as the Infernal Council, the Triad was a group of three high-level demons that direct some supernatural matters. They were quite high in the evil hierarchy. When they became aware of the existence of The Charmed Ones they began sending demons to destroy them, first the Dragon Warlock, and later the demon Belthazor.
The members of the Triad appeared as human males, but some had blackened eyes. Each had the ability to commune directly with The Source, the power to throw energy balls, the ability to teleport, and the power to manifest athemes at will. Though their membership was known to change, the Triad was only ever comprised of three demons at a time.
Belthazor killed the members of the Triad after they discovered his love for Phoebe Halliwell. New members have not taken their place.

Trigs: Erstwhile friend of Belthazor and member of The Brotherhood Of The Thorn, Trigs was vanquished by an atheme wielding Phoebe Halliwell while attempting to kill a street prophet.
Trigs appeared as a human male and was able to shimmer and throw energy balls.

Triple Crescent: Symbolic cousin to the triquetra and an ancient Wiccan symbol.

Triple Crescent, Coven Of The: A group of San Franciscan Witches. Due to the intervention of The Charmed Ones they only lost one Witch to the demon Sykes. All members of this coven, that counted Witches Carrie and Susan among its number, wore a silver necklace with the symbol of the triple crescent.

Triquetra: The symbol of The Charmed Ones, it appears on the cover of the Book Of Shadows. Curiously there were also several Witches that possessed this symbol as a tattoo. One of these Witches was the original owner of Kit, who bears a Triquetra symbol on its collar.

Trolls: Tiny supernatural creatures from the Enchanted Kingdom. Trolls battle with the Fairies for control of the Kingdom, using their claws and speed. Though they exist in a parallel dimension they are able to manifest in our world in the in betweens”, where they can be seen by the childlike and innocent.
Trolls also possess the ability to use magickal dust to turn humans in to fairies.

Troxa is vanquishedTroxa: A demon with the ability to turn invisible. Troxa was sent by The Triad to kill The Charmed Ones as competition for Belthazor. Troxa possessed only one magickal ability and appeared as a human male. He and Belthazor seemed to possess an intense rivalry, stemming from an unknown history between the two.
Though the human eye could not see him, Troxas ectoplasmic biochemistry was vulnerable to cold. Intense cold compromised his invisibility, making his outline partially visible. As Troxa was unable to feel he could not tell when it was cold, making him especially susceptible.
The Triad vanquished Troxa to prevent him revealing Belthazors identity when he was caught in Prue Halliwells lightning trap.

Trudeau, Inspector Andrew (Andy): A San Francisco police Inspector and one time love of Prue Halliwell. After investigating the sisters for a year Andy finally discovered their Wiccan secret, but found that he could not deal with the fact that Prue was a Witch, and their romantic relationship ended.
Andy remained a friend and ally to the Halliwells however and when Phoebe had a premonition of his death he was unable to leave The Charmed Ones to handle the demon alone. Rodriquez killed him when he saved Prues life.

Truth Spell, The: Whoever casts this spell, and whomever they come into contact with, will be bound to tell the truth for 24 hours. A function of the spell is that no one usually remembers what he or she has heard during this period. When Prue Halliwell cast the spell it was for personal gain. As a consequence she and her sisters retained the knowledge learnt while under its influence. The Spell was:

For those who want the truth revealed,
Opened hearts and secrets unsealed,
From now until its now again,
After which the memory ends,
Those who now are in this house,
Will hear the truth from others mouths


Tuatha: A good Witch that turned evil and began using her powers against innocents. She was very powerful, and had a great knowledge of magick. It isnt clear what her special Witch talent was, but she was able to transmute things by sprinkling a yellow dust on them, and rip peoples hearts from their bodies. She also had a very powerful magick wand.
A Chosen One was able to imprison Tuatha for 200 years, from 1799 to 1999, until the Chosen One, Kyle, was able to vanquish her for good. The Chosen One was the only person capable of vanquishing Tuatha. No good Witches, including the Charmed Ones, were able to destroy her.

Turn Animals Into Men, Spell To: A spell that was in a cheesy Valentines Day book of love spells called Bewitched, which was intended to transform animals into men. Classmates of Phoebe Halliwells, Andrea, Brooke, and Tessa, planned on casting the spell for fun, but Phoebe overheard them and corrected the mistakes. Because they had her recitation of the spell on tape, they were able to play it back at precisely the right moment and make the spell work.
The spell required that the animals you wished to transform be gathered in a pentagram at the strike of midnight. Those casting it must then hold hands, and recite the spell. The incorrect words to the spell were:

From strike of twelve count twenty-four,
Thats how long the spell is for,
Turn these gifts into a mate,
And then my lonely heart abate

This spell would not have worked, even if a true Witch cast it, but Phoebe Halliwells corrections and recitations made the transformations successful. The correct words to the spell, as crafted by Phoebe, were:

From strike of twelve count twenty-four,
Thats how long the spell is for,
If to abate my lonely heart,
Enchant these gifts I thee impart

The spell changed whichever animals were within the circle into men, but they retained animalistic characteristics to their personalities. This spell lasted for twenty-four hours only, after which time the animals reverted to their true form. However the reversion began several hours before this, and small animal traits began to appear in the transformed men.
Phoebes attempts to turn the animal-men back into animals backfired and she cast a spell that actually turned everyone at P3 into animals. This spell required a pinch of the salt of life, and some other herbs. While mixing the herbs and salt these words must be said:

Something evil in our midst,
In human form these spirits dwell,
Make them animals sayeth the spell

To undo this last spell Phoebe cast another spell that undid magick enacted. It is unclear if this spell would reverse any magicks incanted, or was specific to the spell Phoebe had just cast. The words to the last spell that made everyone human were:

Undo the magick acted here,
Reverse the spell so all is clear

Turner, Cole: Seemingly a passionate Assistant District Attorney, Cole Turner was actually the human face of the demon Belthazor. Cole planned to use his human form to get close to The Charmed Ones and kill them, before falling in love with Phoebe Halliwell and turning to the side of good.
Born in 1885 to Benjamin Coleridge Turner and a female demon, Cole was raised as a demon after his mother killed his father, forced to repress his demon side. His love for Phoebe Halliwell reawakened his human side and Cole fought at the side of The Charmed Ones, against his former demonic brethren, until his powers as the demonic Belthazor were stripped from him.
As a full human Cole lost none of the fierce passion and temper he had as a demon, nor was he any less protective of his love. To save Phoebes life Cole hosted the ancient power of The Hollow, absorbing the power and evil of The Source. Once inside of Cole The Source began to slowly subsume his personality. By the time of Cole and Phoebes wedding The Source was in complete control and no trace of Cole Turner remained.

Tyler: A nascent Fire starter. Tyler chose the freedom of life as a teenaged boy over the chaos of the magickal world, asking Piper Halliwell to bind his powers after a run in with Ludlow.
Paige Matthews found him a foster home near the Halliwell Manor should he ever wish to unbind his abilities.

Unbind A Bond, To: The sisters cast this spell to undo the pact that Nicholas made with their mother. By casting it they inadvertently sent themselves into the past.

The bond which was not to be done,
Give us the power to see it undone,
And turn back time to whence it was begun

Unholy Union: A marriage to evil. This ceremony, if completed between a Witch and a Warlock, is capable of turning a Witch to evil. When the Warlock Zion bound Prue Halliwell to himself he was able to make her, her sisters, and their Book Of Shadows evil.
Zion married Prue while she was in magick-induced slumber, and in the space of half a day her transformation was complete. Becoming Warlocks Prue and her sisters all gained extra magickal abilities. All could blink, while Phoebe received the powers of telekinesis and transformation, and Piper transformation and cryokinesis. The Book Of Shadows similarly changed with new spells appearing, and evil able to touch it and wield its magicks.
The union was broken with the death of Zion, and the evil undone. The Halliwell sisters became good Witches once again, and the Book Of Shadows returned to normal.
An unholy Union is similar to Handfasting, and must be conducted by a dark High Priestess. The participants hands are bound as a symbol of unity, the Priestess consecrating the ceremony with these words:

In the beginning we were damned, and through damnation we found freedom, power and purpose. As I unite you today, I remind you of those gifts, and in your union, may these gifts increase, so your powers may grow in the service of evil. So be it.

Van Louin, Martha: The matriarch of a powerful San Francisco family. She killed Elias Lundy and he came back to haunt her, killing the men in her family. As she was the object of Lundys obsession when she died his ghost was vanquished.



Van Louin, Matthew: A baby the Charmed Ones protected from a vengeful ghost, intent on destroying all men in the Van Louin family.

Vanishing Spell: This spell is capable of cloaking an objectionable object or feature. Simply concentrate on what you wish to hide while reciting the spell.

Let the object of objection,
Become but a dream,
As I cause the seen,
To be unseen

Vanquish An Evil Spirit, Spell To: Prue and Piper Halliwell used this to vanquish the spirit of Jackson Ward. The spell could only be recited on the astral plane, by the spirit of a Witch. To get to the astral plane a Witch had to literally die. The words to the spell are:

Ashes to ashes,
Spirit to spirit,
Take his soul,
Banish this evil

Vinceres: A timeless and unstoppable demon assassin. He displayed many abilities: incredible strength, invulnerability, immortality, the ability to kill with a touch (similar to the Darklighters death touch) and an immunity to both Witches powers and spells; for example he showed that he was able to move through the freezing power, yet strangely was still affected by Prue Halliwells boosted telekinesis and astral projection. It is possible that Prue was only able to affect Vinceres with her powers because of her empathic power boost. Witches spells could affect him if he allowed it, as was the case with Prues empath spell.
Father Thomas cursed Vinceres with his empathic gift, so that he would be crippled by human emotions and be unable to kill. Vinceres, with the help of Belthazor, tricked Prue Halliwell into lifting this curse from him, ironically providing her with the enhanced power she needed to vanquish him.
Vinceres appeared human, and looked like a vagrant. He had existed through many different ages, yet had always looked the same. It is not clear whether Vinceres human face was his true form, or a mask to hide his demonic traits.

Vornak: Second in command of The Brotherhood Of The Thorn and a higher-level demon similar to Belthazor. Vornak displayed the ability to shimmer and glamour, but presumably was also capable of casting energy balls. Vornaks appearance was that of an older, human, male.
