The guardian angels of good witches have the power to heal, hover, and orb from one earthly or mystical location to another
by turning into a stream of sparkling light. Their identities and purpose are supposed to be kept secret from their charges.
Love relationships between Whitelighter and witches are forbidden, the only exception being Leo Wyatt and Piper Halliwell
after rigorous trail and tribulation.
Whitelighter "dust" a powder that makes people susceptible to suggestions, is sparingly used to erase painful
or dangerous memories.
Whitelighters cannot heal dead people, animals, themselves, self-inflicted wounds, or non-magical ailments.
Clipped wings render a Whitelighter mortal and susceptible to sickness, aging, and death.
Only allowed to heal mortals who are injured by evil.
Cannot heal demons: attempting to do so cause a recoil, throwing the Whitelighter away from the injured demon.
Communicate with each other through clicking.
If in the mortal world, Whitelighters cannot sense witches who are in the underworld; if in the underworld, they cannot
be contacted by witches in the mortal world.
Can hear the voices of their charges at all time.
Can speak the language of their charges.
Can assume the physical appearance of someone else.
They travel through the Neutral Plane when they orb.
Known Whitelighters:
Leo Wyatt: His identity is revealed to the Halliwells. A World War ll medic, he was killed at Guadalcanal and immediately
given Whitelighter status. Although hes not destined to become an Elder, his actions in the wake of extraordinary circumstances
set him on the path.
Sam Wilder: The New York Teacher of the Year in 1972, Sam was Patty Halliwells Whitelighter.
Natalie: Warns the Charmed Ones that witches are being killed. A by the book Whitelighter, she disapproves of Leos emotional
ties the family and faults the witches lack of discipline and respect for rules. Leo feels she is right. His emotional connection
maybe clouding his judgment and endangering the Charmed Ones, so he steps aside. A warlock is runny rampant and Natalie devises
a plan to battle against him with the Charmed Ones as her solders. However when the sisters the plan rather than their instincts
Natalie is killed.
Chris Perry orbs into the Manor claming to be from 20 years in the future, he says he has comeback so the Charmed ones
can the world. When Leo becomes and Elder, he assigns Chris as the girls new Whitelighter. Although Chris is able to handle
the Book of Shadows, which suggests he is good, Wyatt raises hes force field against him, raising one of many questions about
the Whitelighter. Chris is the other son of Piper and Leo. He came back to prevent Gideon from turning Wyatt evil. Also get
his parents to conceive him in time before its to late.
