Storyline

On October 7th, 1998, the WB premiered Charmed, which has now become one of the most watched shows today. Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, Shannen Doherty, & Rose McGowan (showed up in 2000) star in this hit show, as three sisters that just found out their witches. As the three sisters reunite and unlock their powers to become the Charmed Ones the most powerful witches to exist.

After her powers are restored, Phoebe Halliwell refers to the Book of Shadows for guidance and knowledge, especially about the familys history with the Craft. The Halliwells are direct descendents of Melinda Warren, a witch who was burned at the stakes during the Salem Witch Trials in 1692. Before she died, Melinda decreed that one-day three sisters born of the Warren line would emerge as the Charmed Ones, The most powerful witches the world has ever known.

Paige Matthews magical soul predates the beginning of the Warren line by several hundred years, in the twelfth century, she existed as the Evil Enchantress, a powerful witch who almost spawned a world where Dark Magic ruled. Returning to the past from the year 2001, Paige, Phoebe and Piper bind her previous evil incarnations powers and prevent an ill-fated pregnancy.

An evil witch practitioner in Virginia kidnapped Charlotte Warren, Melindas mother. Ruth Cobb planned to raise Charlottes baby as evil to prevent the dominant influence of good magic in ensuing centuries. Ironically, the Halliwells were sent back from the year 2000 to rescuer Melinda, thus securing the Warren line and their own existence. Melinda Warren was born on October 31,1670.

Her lover, Matthew Tate, a warlock who stole her powers and turned her over the witch hunters, betrayed Melinda. Although she trapped him in a locket and retrieved her powers, she did not save herself with the magic to protect her daughter Prudence. As she hoped, the girl survived to marry and have a daughter, thus continuing the Warren line.

Summoned by blood to help the Charmed Ones imprison Matthew Tate a second tine, Melinda informs the three witches that the all exhibit family traits: Short tempers, great cheek bones, strong wills and powers.

Great-Great-Great-Aunt Brianna disgraced a Lord of War during the Crimean War (1853-1856) when she separated from his weapon. Her power to things with her mind was great enough to send a sword hundreds of miles away.

The existing Halliwell Manor was built after the original house was built after the original house was destroyed in the San Francisco of 1906. Knowing the land was a spiritual nexus in the eternal battle between good and evil, the Charmed Ones great-grandparents moved into the house to insure that the site remain on the side of good. Phoebe is the only sister who was born in the house. She has a stronger connection to it and, as a consequence, may be more susceptible to the dark side of her nature.

In the 1920s three cousins who would be reincarnated as Prue, Piper and Phoebe Halliwell, ran a speakeasy in Halliwell Manor. P. Bowen was a professional photographer, a talent that carried through to Prue, and P Baxter had relationships with earlier versions of Dan, a piano player, and Leo. P. Russell, who had the power to throw fire, loved a warlock, Anton, and turned evil. Knowing Anton and the bas witch was plotting to steal their powers, the cousins cursed and killed P. Russell on February 17,1924, to prevent her from ever joining forces with her immortal lover again.

P. Baxter married Gordon Johnson. Their daughter, Penelope Johnson, possessed the Warren family power to move things with her mind. According to the family tree, Penny had a brother, Gordon Johnson II. Although married many times she retained the Halliwell name and demanded that her daughter Patricia, born in 1950, keep the Halliwell name when she married Victor Bennett. Patricia Halliwell had tree daughters with Victor Prue, Piper, and Phoebe. Penny's three granddaughters called her Grams.

Strong-willed and powerful, Grams bound her granddaughters magic in 1975 so Nicholas, a warlock who coveted the three Halliwell powers, couldnt kill the girls to acquire them. To remove the immediate danger to her children, Patty gave into Nicholas demand for immunity to the Power of Three. She did not know she would drown before steps were taken to protect her daughters from Nicholas when Grams died in 1997, and the powers were restored on the autumnal equinox of that same year.

Although Patty and her Whitelighter, Sam Wilder, didn't become romantically involved until after she separated from Victor, Victor blames Sam for the separation and believes he's the reason the didnt get back together. Unknown to everyone except Grams, patty had a fourth daughter by Sam on August 22,1977. Since the child was born of a forbidden union, they orbed to a church and left her with Sister Agnes to be adopted. Their only requests were that her name begins with P and that Sister Agnes does not tell anyone about her origins until the grown girl returns to ask.

At age six, Prue was home sick with Victor she rushed outside to help a boy who was captured by an ice cream truck. Her father saves her from the Nothing, a vortex in the alternate world of a winter playground. Grams concern about his lack of powers and ability to protect the girls drove him a way. On Pipers birthday, a demon struck as she hugged her father. Grams vanquished the demon, but Victor left for good.

On February 28, 1978, Patty Halliwell tried to vanquish the Demon of the Lake at Camp Skylark. As she prepared to electrocute the water creature, Sam warned her away. She turned to freeze him, in order to save him, but was taken over by the demon from behind, and drowned. Unable to protect his most precious charges, Sam became human stayed near the site to protect Pattys daughters, whom he knew would come eventually.

At seventeen, Prue went through a difficult rebellious phase. She was drawn to trouble, including a boyfriend who attacked her. Since the scoundrel disappeared a short time later, its assumed Grams exacted her own brand of justice. In spite of that, Prue was class president and a cheerleader at Baker High.

Cursed with braces in high school, Piper suffered insecurities. She felt so invisible and inferior that Prue had to finish her speech when she ran for class secretary as a freshman. She graduated from Baker High School in 1992.

Paige was supposed to sing the school song at her eighth-grade graduation, but she froze and ran away. Not only did she miss the ceremony, but also Bobby Maynard broke up with her.

Phoebe dated Peter in high school that wasnt very nice; Prue dated Tom Peters, captain of the football team, in college.

Prue suppressed guilt for a car accident that put Phoebe in the hospital for a week. Prue deferred to Grams judgment and wishes. She was not allowed to go to school to become a photojournalist. Know that they would receiver their powers someday. Grams cultivated Prues sense of duty to care for her younger sisters, an obligation she shouldered without fail.

In 1994 at the age of seventeen, Paige was a troubled teenager who skipped classes, picked fights, smoked, drank, and partied hard. Her first love was Bobby Maynard and her best friend Michelle Miglis. She and Glen have been friends since high school. She argued with her adoptive father, a fireman, in the car right before an accident killed both of her parents. On a trip back form 2002 Paige tries to avert the accident, but fails. She survived the original accident because she orbed, but she was not responsible for the tragedy.

When Grams was hospitalized in early 1997, Piper and Prue sublet their North Beach apartment and move back in the Halliwell manor with Grams and Phoebe. Kit, the Siamese cat, continually haunted their doorstep. Grams illness did nothing to bring the three sisters together; a fact that drove grams to make a potion to stop the form becoming witches again. She had a heart attack and died before using it. Piper and remained in the manor but Phoebe moved out. When Phoebe returned for New York in October, she found the book of shadows in the trunk where Grams hid it and recited the spell to restore their powers.

Estrange for his daughters since he left when they were children, Victor returned after Grams died, hoping to stop his daughters form using their powers. While their grandmother lived a long life, their mother was a victim of evil. Even so, Phoebe, Piper and Prue refused to deny who they are and finally accepted that they are adults with a right to choose destiny.

The last words Prue said to her mother were, I love you. Since Patty died, she has not been able to say them to her sisters for fear she'll lose them, too. The emotional barrier is broken when the voice and image of her mother helps her conquer her fear of drowning. However, she continues to deal with her fear of dying young until she meets Sam Wilder at Camp Skylark in 1999, Twenty-one years after her mother died on the camp dock. Sam sacrifices himself to the demon that killed Patty, saving Prue and allows her to finish the job her mother started. Sam is seen leaving for the afterlife with Patty, but the Elders make him a Whitelighter again.

Phoebe and Prue get a mortgage on he Manor to finance the purchase of P3 for Piper in the fall of 1999. Prue quits her job at Buckland in February 2000 and becomes a professional photographer for 415 magazine. Phoebe goes back to college and Piper quits at Quake.

Leo Wyatt first makes the Halliwells acquaintance as a handy man in the fall of 1998. He and Piper fall in love and break up; Piper dies; Leo saves her and becomes human, but then he gets his wings and piper back. They try to marry without permission with a Hand fasting ceremony in October 2000. The Elders make Leo leave, then relent to put them in probation when Piper realizes her love for Leo is nit as important as protecting Innocents. They finally earn the right to marry and Grams sprit presides over the ceremony February 22, 2001.

Just before the sixth anniversary of Guadalcanal, the ghost of Rick and Nathan Lang, who also died they haunt Leo; they play on his misguided guilt until Piper vanquishes them. Leo goes to the reunion as his own grandson and meets the families of the man he saved because he didnt die with the Lang brothers.

Prue Halliwell is killed but the Sources assassin, Shax, in mid-may 2001.

Paige Matthews, an assistant social worker at South Bay Social Service, first meets Piper and Phoebe at Pries funeral in 2001. Her surprise ability to orb leads to the discovery of her origins and status as a half-sister and witch reconstitutes the Power of Three. Prior to the funeral, she felt drawn to the Halliwells and wondered if their mother was her mother. She has an Aunt Julie and Uncle Dave, relative of her adoptive parents.

Cole turner enters the Halliwells life during a court case in the fall of 2000. At first hes on a mission to kill the Charmed Ones for the Triad. However, he falls in love with Phoebe and cant killer her or do anything to hurt her, which protects her sisters. Although hes half-demon struggling to suppress his evil nature, Phoebe loves him

Phoebe graduates from college with a degree in psychology in the spring of 2001, but she has a difficulty finding a job because she requires a flexible schedule.

A Dark Priest in the mausoleum chapel on March 14, 2002, marries Cole and Phoebe. Cole assumes his duties as The Source in the weeks following. Phoebe is hired to write an advice column at The Bay Mirror. Unaware of Coles activities, Phoebe becomes pregnant. When his evil identity is reveled, Phoebe chooses to become Coles Queen at his coronation as The Source on April 25,2002. The Power of Three is stronger than Coles hold over Phoebe, and the Charmed Ones vanquish Cole on May 2,2002.

Phoebe learns that she and Cole did not conceive the baby she carries, but is a creation of the Seer. The unborn Source is vanquished by its own power in May 2002. Piper learns that shes pregnant a week or so later. Ramus, an Elder tells Leo the baby will be more powerful than he can imagine.

Cole returns from being vanquished again in the fall of 2002, and although he and Phoebes still love each other, its not enough Cole returns to work at Jackman, Carter and Kline. Phoebe has billboards and media interviews about her column, Ask Phoebe.

Paige is assigned her first Whitelighter charge in November 2002 and meets Sam Wilder, Her biological father a Whitelighter about to lose his wings. Giving her up, as a baby was the hard thing he ever had to do. His reconciliation of his feelings allows him to save Paige for Darklighter poison.

Victor meets Doris on a singles cruise ands marries her unaware that shes a demon. They visit his daughters the night of the Wiccan Festival of Light, February 19,2003. Doris is killed, and Wyatt Matthews Halliwell is born. Wyatts Wiccaning, when he is welcome into the family with the blessing of all the warren line matriarchs, takes place May 4, 2003, with Grams presiding.

When Leo becomes an Elder, Piper faces her worst fear that he'll leave and not come back. She will never forget him but Leo uses his power to take away the pain. Now that Paige has done the super witch thing, she decides its time to get back to her other, neglected real life with her friends and career.

Chris Perry enters the Charmed Ones lives at the beginning of the sixth season, we dont know much about him but he is the new Charmed Ones Whitelighter. By the middle of the sixth season we learn that Chris is from the future trying help his brother Wyatt from turning evil and that he needs to be conceived by midnight that night or he will disappear. He also says that someone will turn Wyatt before he is born. We find out that it is Gideon a fellow Elder friend of Leos of course Leo vanquishes Gideon at the end of the sixth season when Chris is born.

At the beginning of the seventh season we lean about the Avatars but we are not quite sure if they are good or evil. Also Agent Brody comes look for them find out that Leos has become an avatar.
